Founded in 1990 as a supervision, protection and promotion institute, the Consortium for the Protection of Lugana performs a systematic and intense activity for the protection and enhancement of the designation of origin.
The Consortium for the Protection is also promoter of communication and enhancement of the Lugana brand through the participation in the most important national and international fairs and the organization of events designed to raise awareness of the image and the quality of Lugana.
The Consortium is also responsible for safeguarding the Lugana from unfair competition and market fluctuations.
In this regard, the Consortium has long waged a battle against the temptation, in a time of crisis like the one that is gripping the world today, of "falling prices" that would undermine the quality of the product and debase the image of the designation.
Founded in 1967, the "Lugana" designation of controlled origin was the first recognized in Lombardy and one of the first in Italy, reflecting the historical and inseparable bond between this white wine and its territory.
