The Azienda Agricola San Giuseppe was born in 1989 from the passion for wine and the territory of origin of Giovanni Battistella, a former building contractor, who believed in the potential of Prosecco and in the possibility of making its way into the Italian wine scene and beyond. For about 5 years he has entered the company management, but it is as if he had always been there, his son Carlo, a graduate in Viticulture and Oenology, who followed in his father's footsteps, representing in fact the present and the future of the business familiar. Since the introduction of the DOC in 1969, the historical production area has remained limited to 15 municipalities. Two of these give it its name: Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, one the cultural capital and the other productive heart. The hills extend from east to west, so they have a slope facing south, where the vineyards enjoy the best sun exposure, and a slope facing north, usually occupied by woods. The altitude varies from 100 to 500 m and guarantees the temperature range by causing the aromas to develop. The hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco have been nominated by the Italian National Commission for UNESCO to enter the list of World Heritage Sites. The territory of Conegliano Valdobbiadene represents a cultural landscape of unique value, an expression of manual work and of the ancient sparkling wine tradition.
