In 1962 the young man Tarcisio Bernardi, feeling tight in his role as member of the cooperative winery, decided to vinify on his own the grapes produced by him and to sell the wine, with the experience of at least three generations of winemakers.
At the time, the mechanization of agriculture was just at the beginning, the rugged hills of Pedeguarda – Follina – required hard work and the soil was sometimes stingy. These difficulties brought the Bernardi family, in 1972, to move to Ogliano, on the hills of Conegliano.
Now the company has an area of about 16 hectares of which 13 are planted with vineyards, grouped together in one body surrounding the company estate, an impressive network of rows on green hills exposed to the sun. Time has passed, new generations have begun to work besides the old ones, the traditional methods of working have combined with new technologies that help to improve the wines’ quality, making them responsive to market demands, but the attachment to the territory, love for nature and the genuineness of its products have remained intact.
