The primary objective of the Consortium is the promotion of the image of the entire Susa Valley territory with the participation in wine competitions, exhibitions and presentations of local products, in the major Italian cities. It is to expand the knowledge of local production, with the participation in wine and food competitions, and also with actions to raise awareness to the consumption of Valsusa DOC Wines, in the most important restaurants in the area.
The Piedmont Region requested to the Ministry of Agriculture a modification of the production specifications: the new powers for the Consortium are a better recognition of the productive environment, in particular for the altitudes of the fertile areas that reach approx. 1,100 meter above sea level. In addition, it provides for the recognition of the name “Vigna”, to be assigned to the products in combination with the name of the locality. Currently, they are planning a strict limitation of the accolades that, however, will result more qualifying for productions.
