Castello delle Regine covers hilly terrains of boundless views between Amelia and Narni, in the south of Umbria. Its centuries–old history is linked to those of the various families that followed one another in the possession of this land.
In the 400 hectares that form the property there are: vineyards, centuries–old olive groves, Chianina cows livestocks, forests, orchards, a Relais in the countryside with restaurant and 4 swimming pools.
For over 20 years the current property has supported great investments, taking care of the old vineyards of Sangiovese Grosso and Merlot, choosing carefully together with the oenologist, Dr. Franco Bernabei, the land for new plants.
The care of the vineyards and of the olive groves is made in respect of the environment with the use of natural fertilizers, while the 200 hectares of forests provide a high contribution of oxygen in the air.
The philosophy is “the best wine from the best land”, ensuring that every step, from the production of grapes to winemaking, uses natural techniques. The harvesting is done by hand.
The winery adopts modern winemaking technologies, while maintaining strong connections with the territory.
The wines are classic and elegant, with great complexity.
Since the first vintage, wines have received recognitions both by the Italian guides Gambero Rosso and Bibenda, and by Wine Spectator.
