The family agricultural tradition thus becomes a corporate but niche activity, to produce wines of great value, capable of respecting the land of origin and enhancing it through its best fruits. For each label, small quantities are produced: about 3000 bottles. Thus was born the "collection" Gurrieri which becomes the reflection of the agricultural and peasant vocation of Ragusa. The family now works together to produce DOCG and Igt wines of Sicily, grows organically and enhances indigenous grape varieties such as Nero d'Avola, Frappato, Grillo and an international grape variety, Syrah, well adapted to the soils and the Sicilian climate. Father Vincenzo, Don Vicè, to whom some wines are dedicated, continues his work in the vineyard as a tireless and passionate worker. Mamma Graziella takes care of the administrative part of the company and takes care of the family. Her children dedicate the Classic Method Sparkling Wine from Nero d'Avola and Frappato grapes vinified in white, which takes the name of "Donna Grazia".
SERVICES
The wines tell the unchanged beauty of the peasant tradition in the uncontaminated nature of the Iblei Mountains. In the vineyards, grown organically and with respect for the land, the rows embroider the slopes of a soil with clayey reflections, a natural "paradise" for the vine, with the dry white stone walls that enrich the landscape. Soils of calcareous origin give richness and complexity. The ventilated Mediterranean climate, characterized here by important temperature ranges, contributes to giving the product unique strength, vigor, aromas and flavors. The wines are born from the meticulous selection of grapes, grown without the use of synthetic chemistry, harvested by hand in two stages to obtain the maximum result from differentiated ripening, transported in small crates in order not to mistreat the grapes, refrigerated, softly pressed and vinified (with long maceration for red wines) in pre-set temperature control systems. After the malolactic conversion, the wine is decanted into wooden barrels or steel silos where it matures; after bottling, a period of refinement in the bottle follows, which is necessary to fully express the potential. Gurrieri wines convince the palate for their enveloping, their character and their harmony. To distinguish them, moreover, the flavor and elegance.
