Cantina La Morciola was formed in 1969 by 16 enterprising winegrowers. Today, La Morciola cooperative company boasts about 200 members who cultivate over 500 hectares of vineyards in one of the oldest wine districts in Italy, where the vine has been cultivated for over 2000 years.
The logo of the company incorporates the inscription on a Roman cup of the fourth century AD, preserved at the Oliveriano Museum of Pesaro. This very ancient cultivation was started and developed in an area of gentle rolling hills sloping down towards the Adriatic Sea in which the vineyards, supported by robust terraces, seem to plunge, tying the sea to the rocky complexes and the dense network of gorges originating from the rivers Foglia, Metauro and Cesano.
