It is located in Scanzano Jonico, a charming resort on the Ionian coast of the Lucania area, where an old farmhouse was converted into a house–winery.
The company boasts of being the first in the Metaponto area to have a complete production cycle that goes from the cultivation of grapes to the bottling of wine. This helps to ensure quality control over all phases of the manufacturing process, with the opportunity for the customer, always at the center of the attention, to visit the winery and realize how Fontanarosa wines are the result of both the respect of the traditional workmanship rules and of the most modern winemaking techniques.
The fining of wine is made in small French oak barrels for at least 6 months.
The vineyards were planted in the 70s; the method of planting has proved to be ideal for the climate of the area, characterized by long periods of drought and very high summer temperatures.
