The Maraviglia company was founded in year 2004 by the will and the passion of the whole family. A surface area of over 13 hectares, entirely devoted to the pursuit of production excellence, which extends on the land of the Piannè di Matelica locality. Matelica, an ancient town in the Piceno area and Roman municipality, is located in the Marche region, in the province of Macerata, in the middle of a valley, the high valley of Esino, inner and parallel to the sea, that extends from the Sillini mountains to the south until mount Catria to the north.
Here, where the mountains of the Apennines are nearer and the profiles of the countryside take mountain features, the territory still jealously guards places rich in art, traditions, history and culture.
The wine terroir of Matelica shows vineyards in average–high hills and a microclimate of strong temperature ranges. Starting from these conditions, wines with floral bouquets come out, which have in their strong accents the image of their "terroir".
To describe Matelica, the adjectives used to talk about its most famous product, Verdicchio DOC, would be enough: "Harmonious, elegant, special". These are the spells of the land and of the "nectar" that is produced here. Here, Verdicchio, Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grape varieties are grown.
The annual production is of about 30,000 bottles.
