Purchased in 1984, the company is family–owned, it stems from the desire of Rita and Virgilio to retire in a quiet place where to spend their retirement years cultivating the land, their great passion.
It was right this enthusiasm to encourage them to focus their energies and their means to exploit the great potentials wich, at the time, that small plot of land was hiding.
The farm, located in the Notri locality in Suvereto, lies about 100 meters above sea level and is composed of medium–textured soils, clayey, rich in trace elements like iron and zinc that distinguish the wines of mineral territoriality in which international vines find a very suitable environment.
The couple had, in this way, a happy insight planting Merlot and Cabernet because from the blend of the two wines Giusto di Notri was created in 1992, which made immediately talk about itself in the national and international press for the depth and Tuscan style that can be found in the glass.
Later it was decided to leave two barrels of Merlot and vinify it in single–variety: in 1994 Redigaffi would become a cult wine, the first Italian wine to obtain 100/100 by Robert Parker with the 2000 vintage, able to include Tua Rita among the 100 best wineries in the world according to the prestigious Revue du Vin de France.
For Tua Rita, a series of successes that brought over the years to the enlargement and modernization of the wine cellar began; thanks to the collaboration of his son–in–law Stefano Frascolla (owner of the winery of the same name) and the oenologist Dr. Stefano Chioccioli, today the company covers about 50 hectares, of which 30 hectares are planted with vines, while the total production is of about 110,000 bottles, divided into five red wines and two white wines.
