At Podere Volpaio they produce Wine, Raisin Wine, Oil and Grappa using all trhough the production process the method of organic farming. “The organic method of cultivation is a clean form of agriculture which excludes the use of synthetic chemicals, pesticides or herbicides”. The soil is fertilized only with organic substances, the vineyards are treated, in a preventive manner, with organic substances harmless to animals and insects and do not leave any toxic residue in the soil and in wine.
The soil of Pliocene origin is rich in marine fossils and is featured by calcareous marl resting on tufa and parts of terrain with mixed sand and clay, an excellent sun exposure, and traditional methods of cultivation and harvest, still manual, allow us to obtain products of high quality with large variations, of great body. The ruby red color is typical of Chianti, with amber highlights more pronounced in the Reserves, pleasant and persistent aromas that give the wines of Podere Volpaio an unmistakable elegance and tipicality, unique in its kind.
