Located in the Municipality of Casoli (CH), on the borders of the Majella massif and the eponymous park, at an average altitude of 400 meters above sea level. Lands in the vicinity of the Aventino river, close to Lake S.Angelo the function of climate mitigation.
The altitude, the temperature, the temperature ranges and the exposure make the microclimate unique especially in the final result of processing: products that are difficult to reproduce elsewhere.
The company’s hectares of land consist of many plots with various exposures and mineral composition. The agronomic management is practiced with organic methods.
We verify the natural adaptability of the Montepulciano, Trebbiano, Pecorino and Merlot varieties to individual plots, analyzing the soil, the microclimate, the exposure. We identify first of all the cultivar to plant, the best rootstocks and the optimal clones for a production of quality aimed to an excellent wine–making. The vineyards are grown with espalier method with a high density of vines per hectare (over 4,000). Severe pruning limits the output below 100 q/ha.
The new winery, under construction on the site of the old structures, above the new vineyards, has been designed with a careful assessment of the environmental and architectural features. The basement has an ideal climate for storing and aging in oak barrels and a space dedicated to wine tasting accompanied by strictly local food products.
Not only wine: we keep jealously plots of the ancient olive groves and plant trees where the different cultivars of the territory of Casoli dwell (Gentile, Intosso, Crognalegno, Olivastro) to which we have added new single–variety plants built with modern agronomic choices. The farming system is polyconic vase with pruning and harvesting by hand. The harvesting of stone–fruits and subsequent cold milling within 24 hours ensure the absolute goodness of oil.
