The Cantine Foschini wine company is located in Guardia Sanframondi in the gentle hills of the Sannio Beneventano area, whose conditions of soil and climate find an ideal terroir, suitable for the cultivation of olive groves and vineyards.
Cantine Foschini, whose four hectares of vineyards fall in the areas of DOC Guardiolo and DOC Solopaca, produce and market about 20,000 bottles of selected wines. With a careful research work the owners of the company have obtained more satisfactory results over the vineyards of Falanghina and Aglianico, in particular, without underestimating the results on other grape varieties, Sangiovese, Trebbiano Toscano, Malvasia di Candia, the Montepulciano, White Agostinella and red Longa.
The Foschini family, now in its third generation, combines tradition and new techniques offered by modern oenology that ensure the high quality of the wines. The winery, completely renovated in 2002, is respectful of each hygienic rule, offers the visitor an environment of a vintage flavor, being located in a premise dating back to the eighteenth century at the time of the Guardia delle Sole, when the prevalent activity in this country was the tanning of skins.
From the wine cellar, through narrow streets, you can easily reach the ancient medieval village, as well as the Norman Castle, the residence of the Sanframondo family.
Today Cantine Foschini is investing additional resources to further qualify its range of products, and thanks to the expertise and professionalism of the oenologist Dr. Marco Ciarla is planning a new range of wines with designation of origin (DO) Falanghina and Aglianico DOC that will be marketed starting from the new wine year 2012–2013. In addition to the new selection of wines DO, Cantine Foschini has the intention to enhance its generic wines of high quality to a refined daily but moderate drink at a good value for money.
Worth to mention are the bubbles and, in effect, to complete the range of wines, in 2013 a brut sparkling wine made from Falanghina grapes with long Charmat method, to enhance the organoleptic properties typical of this grape variety, will be marketed.
In 2013, the production capacity will pass from the current 15–20 thousand bottles to more than 50 thousand bottles.
Cantine Foschini is also committed to enhance the production of extra virgin olive oil whose production comes from about 500 olive trees located in poor soils on high hills, and thus with high vocation, low yields (up to 12 liters per quintal of olives) and low acidity. For plant protection chemicals are not used and the pressing of olives takes place maximum 24 hours from collection. The currently marketed production has no distinctive mark, but during the 2013–2014 period Cantine Foschini will launch on the market a product line: a blend and a single cultivar.
Cantine Foschini offers the opportunity to customize both the wine and olive oil production, for customers who want a product tailored to their company.
The prices of our products range from a minimum of 1.5€/l for the generic product in bulk to a maximum of 5€ for Secreta wines (pure Falanghina IGT), Petra Nera (Aglianico IGT in single–variety), Portella Serrata (blend of Montepulciano, Sangiovese, native vines) and Dama Leonessa (blend of Malvasia, Trebbiano and native varieties).
