The Salvatore Molettieri winery was founded in 1983, giving business dignity to a long peasant experience and to a winemaking tradition which stretches back in time for at least four generations.
A long work in the old family vineyards and thirty years of business experience have implemented the knowledge of Salvatore, a vinegrower in the field and a winemaker in the cellar, bringing the company to occupy a prominent position on the national and international wine market. There are over 13 hectares of land held in the vineyard, all lying at about 500/600 meters on the hillsides which move the geography of Montemarano, one of the seventeen villages belonging to the Taurasi D.O.C.G. area.
The territory is characterized by clay–limestone soils, enjoys an excellent climate exposure and is particularly suited to viticulture, allowing the production of Irpinia D.O.C. Aglianico and Irpinia D.O.C. and Campi Taurasini, Irpinia D.O.C. Rosso, Taurasi and Taurasi Riserva D.O.C.G., and the white wines Fiano di Avellino D.O.C.G. and Greco di Tufo D.O.C.G.
Salvatore is helped, in the leading and management of the company, by his four sons, Giovanni, Giuseppe, Luigi and Paolo, and by the discreet and collaborative presence of Ms. Angela, keeper of family traditions, especially in the kitchen. The original identity of the farm is maintained in the cultivation of about two hectares of olive groves where they breed various cultivars (Frantoiana, Leccina, Ravece) for the production of an olive oil blend for family consumption.
