Giulio Cocchi Spumanti was founded by the passion of a young confectioner, when in Asti in 1889 his winery opened to the activities of liqueur and sparkling wine making. Giulio Cocchi began to produce wines with special aromas, out of which especially two recipes, Barolo Chinato and Aperitivo Americano, became famous already at the beginning of the twentieth century. For over thirty years the property has been of the Bava family of Cocconato d’Asti, who has given a new drive to the production of the company.
The winery has developed keeping its artisan feature based on skilled production of vintage sparkling wines made with Metodo Classico, Charmat sparkling wine and, obviously, Asti DOCG.
