De Stefani Azienda Agricola

The De Stefani family is native to Refrontolo, a hilltop village in the Veneto region, in Italy, as appears from official documents of 1624.

In the second half of the 19th century Valeriano De Stefani, the founder, identifying the best lands where to produce wines with a strong personality in the Colvendrame farm in Refrontolo, in the hills between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, north of Venice.



His son Valeriano, second generation, inspired by her scrupolous wife Angelina, began the tradition that would characterize the De Stefani: total dedication to quality without compromise.



Tiziano, third generation, arrived to the clays of the river Piave identifying in the Pra’ Longo of Monastier of Treviso and the Le Ronche in Fossalta di Piave farms, both in the north–east of Venice, particularly suited to the production of wines of great character lands. Respecting the traditions of the family, he implemented important innovations in the vineyard management and in winemaking. In the Le Ronche farm in Fossalta di Piave, the vinification, fining and marketing center of the company is located.



Today, Alessandro De Stefani, fourth generation, who joined his father Tiziano in 1990, produces according to a very natural philosophy wines reported in the most important Wine Guides: in vineyard in the absence of herbicides and chemical fertilizers and the winery vinification without preservatives nor added sulphites. Valuing indigenous varieties, it has developed a worldwide distribution that sees the De Stefani wines present in restaurants and wine shops in over 40 countries on 5 continents, with a production of around 300,000 bottles produced annually from 40 hectares of vineyards.
