Casa Geretto, a company that continues in its family tradition its story in the world of wine. It was the early 50s when the Gentleman Antonio Geretto, together with his children, started the activity of trade in wines, more for passion than for precise objectives. The growing consensus towards the products placed on the market and the considerable increase in their diffusion, intensified production and marketing of the wine product, made known in its integrity and character of the original vine. It has been founded, in this way, the Geretto Antonio Winery. The care and attention in the choice of grapes and wines found more and more space in Friuli, as well as in the Veneto region. Awards and prizes at the tasting counters in the area did not come late.
In 1976 the Merk Farm was purchased, in the DOC Friuli Aquileia, in order to meet the needs of an increasingly more Friulian market attentive to the quality of the product.
Since 1999, Dino Geretto renewed the tradition of a winery increasingly oriented to the expansion of its market and the quality requirements of the final consumer. With the generational change, also the philosophy and the image of the company was renewed, focusing strongly on a careful selection of products and wines that would reflect in the best way the identity of their territory of origin. All this is the result of continuous experiments and of the direct control of each stage of production and of all grapes treated, for a complete traceability of the product, under the supervision of Antonio Geretto, the company’s oenologist.
The company’s export share amounts to approximately 35% of sales; you can find the Merk Casa Geretto wines in the USA, Canada, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom. The domestic market is spread throughout the Northeast with a sales network covering the national territory to Rome.
Thanks to the intense work of this decade awards and prizes in the most important tasting counters in national and international competitions were conferred, as well as mentions in the most prestigious journals and guides. For Casa Geretto, moreover, it has always been important to communicate wines by sponsoring and participating in initiatives of pairing between wine and various forms of art such as music, painting, theater.
Founded in 1986 by Sergio Mosole, the company is run by his elder son Lucio who, as he was 22 years old, tried to give a rational and modern mark to the company. With the collaboration of the oenologist Gianni Menotti, he, the company–man, follows the work at all stages of the supply chain, from the farm to the market.
The Piccoli Farm is situated on Monte La Parte, a wonderful hill of tuff and calcareous soils a few minutes from the historic center of Verona.
The vineyards offer a beautiful view over the ancient Roman and medieval bell towers of the town, the impressive Castel Vecchio and the slow flow of the river Adige.
The company is spread over 14 hectares, entirely dedicated to the cultivation of grapes and olives.
The vineyards grown with Guyot are at 250 meters above sea level and thanks to the ventilated climate and the excellent exposure, allow the production of high quality grapes destined to give birth to elegant and fruity wines.
The common goal of all wines is to pursuit the best fruit to find, in every taste, its landscape of origin and the most beautiful emotion.
Our small company is located on the beautiful hills of Gambellara, 300 meters above sea level, on deep soils of volcanic origin, rich in lavas and tuff stones. Our vineyards have up to 40 years of age and are bred to produce a little, trying to obtain always the very best from the extraordinary Garganega grape that is used only in single variety.
Our wines speak of all this and of the infinite passion for our work, which fills our soul and all the time in our disposition. The project goes beyond the budgets, beyond the calculations, just a continuous chase of a beautiful dream.
The Sutto wine company arises in the vineyards of Campo di Pietra, between Treviso and Venice. The wines with brand Sutto, full expression of the Piave spirit, are produced thanks to the passion and dedication of three generations of farmers and entrepreneurs who have been able to develop the wine tradition of the family. Fresh and fragrant whites, reds of important personalities and a wide choice of labels ranging from the best selection of vintage wines, to the structure and value of the Reserve wines, to the pleasant and informal vitality of the Vivaci wines. Today, the latest generation of the family continues in the work of research and renewal of their wine culture, developing different typologies of products according to the vocations of the soils. Luca Ricci’s passion for wine made that in 1999 he undertook a new activity, yes, new, but not entirely, since already his grandfather and then his father, who graduated as oenologists at the School of Conegliano, had long ago laid the foundation for a future winemaking company. This passion and the ongoing commitment has the result to get excellent quality results for all the wines that the company produces.
The pursuit of quality in respect of the balances of nature is one of the main prerogatives of the If–Zen company. Agronomist and oenologist work together in choosing the farming system, pruning, low yield per plant, to the harvest by hand. In the winery, wine is processed with traditional techniques revisited and adapted to a material that changes from a parcel of vines to the other, separating even some batches of grapes from specific vineyards and using for maturation and fining containers of different materials. If–Zen is a company of people who are highly fond of this area and are related to it. The oenologist himself begins his journey right here, in the various realities of the Euganean Hills wine, then combining his studies and his training with some experience in highly suitable areas, such as Friuli and Tuscany, in Italy, and valuable partnerships with wineries in countries like France and Argentina.
From knowledge and comparison of wines from different continents and terroirs, from the union of traditional and innovative techniques, hence the distinctive Maeli wines, embodied in the careful selection of the types of wines, from the classic ones to the reserves, on which steps in wooden barrels from prestigious French tonellerie are experienced. The same classic method based on Pinot Noir, which rests 48 months on its lees, has been designed according to the company’s project to produce wines for the new millennium through the craft and traditional methods and knowledge. No rush, wait: a kind of discipline that comes from the Oriental thought and philosophy and that If–Zen made in its approach with wine, waiting for the right time when a wine reveals its history and that of the lands from which it has origin, expressing personality, elegance and longevity: these are the qualities which distinguish the most prestigious wines in the world.
