The Pelz company was founded in 1995 by the idea of three brothers, Diego, Michele and Franco, with the aim to create a product that could express freely the uniqueness of the wine reality of the Cembra Valley. The company owns more or less 9 hectares of land spread on the South–eastern slope of the Cembra Valley, from which they obtain their wines: MULLER THURGAU, RIESLING, KERNER, CHARDONNAY, SCHIAVA, LAGREIN ROSATO, PINOT NERO and 10 VENDEMMIE: a late harvest of riesling.
The Alfio Nicolodi’s company was founded by grandfather Antonio in the early twentieth century in Cembra, in the historic district of Carraja. Since 1985, Alfio has taken the reins, carefully following both the vineyards in the processing, changing the plants and the vinification techniques of grapes, and the whole production phase until bottling, selecting the different types of grapes in order to obtain better and better wines.
Since 2000 engaged with much energy to the reinstatement of the historic vines of the valley, a long–term project of which in recent years we are beginning to see the results, more and more important.
Steep slopes, bold terraces, a unique set of forms and colors that already in the early sixteenth century inspired the best watercolors artworks by the German painter Albrecht Dürer, an area hard as porphyry that characterizes it, and tied to the vine and wine since ancestral times, as evidenced by the discovery of the “Situla”, a wine pot dating back to the Rhaetian period. This is the Cembra Valley. And exactly in Cembra the Zanotelli Agricultural Society is located.
Winegrowers for generations, stubborn in keeping alive an important production reality even in the toughest conditions, the Zanotelli family firsthand looks after the whole cycle of vine–growing, with the goal of combining the immense heritage of culture and tradition with a necessary and constant innovative contribution. Products reflect this land and its people: they are mountain wines, fragrant and sincere. Their intrinsic quality is refined and enhanced by the work and expertise that the Zanotelli family can express firstly in the field and then in the winery and has been recognized with prestigious awards over the years.
