Ansitz Weger is a historic winery founded in 1820 by Josef Weger, a pioneer in the South Tyrol winemaking history, and is currently managed by the sixth generation represented by Johannes Weger, who with his passion for quality combines tradition with innovation.
The Top range is represented by the wines of the “Maso delle Rose” line (White Pinot, Grey Pinot, Black Pinot, Sauvignon, Gewürztraminer, Joanni, Merlot and Rodon) and by the classic Josef Weger line.

To ensure the best conditions, in the year 2002, we have made renovations in our wine cellars. The outdated and antiquated structure, built in the sixties and seventies, has been been demolished, while the historical part has been restored. The new building consists of three rooms, one for winemaking, one for bottling, and one for the storage of bottled wines. Machineries have been replaced with machines of modern technology. We have decided to take this step, also to be even more competitive on the commercial and logistical point of view.
We hope, in this way, to reach the top with our wines, in order to meet the needs of our customers in Italy and abroad.
Our family–run company was founded in 1979 by Gabriel Martini and his father Karl. Both had already been working for several years in the wine industry before deciding to start the adventure of a private company.
To create a winery from out of thin air was a great effort. The first bottles were filled, capped and labeled by hand (we are happy that today machines can do this work in our place).
We are not big landowners, therefore, we are glad that there are many trusted farmers who deliver to us their grapes to produce wine. We and our suppliers are particularly attentive to the quality of the vineyards. In the cellar, then, it is up to us to be able to obtain good wine from valuable grapes.
Our structure at the beginning was very small, therefore, to achieve success, there was no other way but let wines “speak”. Only quality and an impeccable service justify the existence of a family–run company. We want to continue to work in this way, we do not do philosophy. We love to be very practical.

Built in 1909, the central body in Art Nouveau style is still today expression and pride of the farmers of Appiano who wanted to give their wine a suitable framework. The next extension of the original building symbolizes the orientation to the future: its simple style and its clean lines are an expression of the determination of the open mind of the Oltradige winegrowers.

The Cantina Girlan was founded in 1923 by 23 vintners congregating at this historic country estate (dating back to the 16th century) in the village of Girlan in the region of Alto Adige. Back then – 90 years ago – the 23 charter members had an annual production of a mere 2,700 hectoliters of wine.
The Cantina Girlan now has 200 wine-grower members, for a total area of 220 hectares of vineyards in the best growing zones of the Oltradige and Bassa Atesina.
