Situated in a panoramic position in the hills of Petroio, a small locality in the Vinci municipality, the company has been owned by the Pratelli family since 1963.
The winery, recently renovated, is equipped with cutting–edge technological facilities suitable for the production of quality wine. The company produces two white wines, five red wines, a Vin Santo, two grappas and an extra virgin olive oil. They organize guided tours and tasting of the products of the company, on request.
The company is equipped with all the amenities that characterize a farmhouse inn of quality, where you can stay in the typical Tuscan farmhouses and enjoy nature routes in the hills of Montalbano, Vinci, as well as reach surrounding centers like Florence and Pisa.
At the foot of the Montagnola Senese, the Castel Pietraio Farm is located in the town of Monteriggioni in the area of the Colli Senesi. The 153 hectares that encircle the medieval castle are divided among vineyards, olive groves, corn and sunflower fields, meadows and woods, respecting the natural features of the land. Castel Pietraio has a natural vocation to valuable viticulture, thanks to the particular climatic conditions, the good exposure, and the passion of the owners, all amplified by the professionalism of the young oenologist, Ms. Barbara Tamburini, who has been collaborating with the company for many years with the aim of improving more and more products, environmentally friendly produce through natural fertilization, reduction of plant protection products. The winery is equipped with the best equipment for the vinification and aging of wines exclusively from their own grapes.
Already owned by the Marquises Matteucci, the company was purchased in 1979 by the Zonin family that has made the transformation from its mainly cereal–olive original stance, into the current wine–olive orientation.
Fattoria Il Palagio, now owned by Gaetano Zonin, overlooks a typical Tuscan hill in Castel San Gimignano, in the Val Elsa of the Siena area, Municipality of Colle di Val Elsa and for a small part Municipality of San Gimignano, in the heart of a land, the central Tuscany, which has deeply marked the history of Italian art and civilization.
At an altitude of 350 meters above sea level, it has an extension of about 350 hectares, of which nearly 100 are planted with vines and 15 with olive trees.
The soil, consisting predominantly of clays and yellow sands, of good structure, has a good capacity of water retention, that can be appreciated especially in summer, when the weather is dry.
Vineyards are modern, trained with Sylvoz spurred cordon method.
In addition to Chianti DOCG, Vernaccia Di Sangimignano DOCG, particular attention should be paid to Arnolfo Di Cambio, a 100% Sangiovese red wine that ages for 18 months in the barrel cellar of the company and to Sauvignon IGT, defined by Maroni as an "educational" Sauvignon, that has received several times the Diploma of Great Mention at the Vinitaly Wine Exhibition and other awards.
The company was founded in late 2000 and is located between Cortona and Montepulciano in the hills that face the village. The soil structure is made of tuff with small parts of clay that outcrop in the highest areas. The exposure of the vineyards, to the south and west, allows a perfect ripening of the grapes. The 11–hectare vineyard, with 6,000 vines per hectare in the most recent plots and 4,000 in the eldest ones, presents different varieties: Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Trebbiano and Malvasia.
The Corsini family is one of the oldest and most important noble Italian families, honored in Spain with the title of “Pari” and in Italy of that of Princes, hence the name of the company. Duccio Corsini leads personally, with great freshness of ideas, energy and passion, the two wineries of the family: Le Corti and Marsiliana.
Le Corti, with a continuous history of almost six centuries, is the historical company of San Casciano, the northern area of Chianti Classico: owned by the Corsini family since 1427, it has always been dedicated to vines and olive trees. The approximately 50 hectares of vineyard and almost 14,000 olive trees are combined into a landscape of remarkable beauty, with steep and stony slopes, dominated by the wonderful Renaissance villa. Given the great vocation of this land to Sangiovese, the production is focused on three Chianti Classico: the elegant and balanced Le Corti, the more complex and austere Cortevecchia Reserve, the rich, soft and powerful Don Tommaso. The range includes also three products that represent three different ways of reading the Chianti Classico territory through its main grape: Zac IGT Toscana 100% Sangiovese from a single vineyard, Rosé Le Corti, a rosé from Sangiovese, and the sparkling wine Charmat method Principe Corsini rosé, obtained from grapes of Sangiovese with a brief stay on the lees.
Marsiliana, located in Manciano in southern Maremma, one of the largest agriculture and hunting farms on the Tuscan coast. From the about 20 hectares devoted to vines, two international red wines of great interest are obtained. Marsiliana (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah) is a rich, warm and deep, typically Mediterranean blend. Birillo is an original mini–supertuscan produced from cabernet and merlot grapes.
That of Frescobaldi was one of the most important Florentine families in the political, economic and social history of the city of Florence.
Once in the city, perhaps from Val di Pesa, around the thirteenth century (although some sources indicate possible urban origins), they gave themselves successfully to the merchandise and to banking activities, like other illustrious families. Their main activities were the production and trade of wool, bank lending and, earlier than other families, agriculture in their vast estates in the country. The first news of the wine–growing activity of the Frescobaldi family dates back to 1308; a curiosity in regard to a document that records an exchange in nature (works of art for wine) with Michelangelo Buonarroti. In addition, Vittorio degli Albizzi, brother–in–law of the Frescobaldi for the marriage of his sister Leonia with Angiolo Frescobaldi, was among the first to test in the Frescobaldi estates modern methods of wine production, with the addition in 1855 of Chardonnay, Cabernet and Merlot grape varieties in Tuscany.
With the goal of being the most prestigious Tuscan wine producer, Frescobaldi firmly believes in respecting the territory, focuses on the excellence of its own grapes, and invests in communication and professionalism of human resources.
Currently, Marchesi de Frescobaldi is one of the largest producers of Italian wine of quality, has the largest extent of vineyards in Tuscany, with 1,200 hectares and five farms, all located in areas particularly suited and dedicated to the production of fine DOCG, DOC and IGT wines: from the Chianti area to that of Pomino DOC, from Montalcino to Maremma, from Mugello to the province of Livorno. Estates of property and beautiful vineyards, where perfect knowledge of the environment and the control of raw materials allow Frescobaldi to ensure constant quality and the strong personality of its wines.
"Fattoria Castellina" is located on the southern slopes of Montalbano, within the Barco Reale, the ancient hunting grounds of the Medici family. It covers an area of 110 hectares, of which 10 are vineyards, 30 are olive groves and 10 are arable land. The rest is a forest of oaks, acacias, maples and pines surrounding the entire estate.
Fabio Montomoli is the tenant of the farm, while his wife Elisabetta takes care of the farmhouse inn.
The vineyard was gradually renovated from 1999 until 2000 and an old vineyard left fallow for 20 years was recovered: it has been replanted with the cultivation of bush vines and the"settonce" planting system (an ancient Greek method). The high density (8,300 plants/ha) makes that processes are done exclusively by hand or with the aid of animal drawn tools; this allows to preserve to the maximum the soil structure.
Since 2004, "Fattoria Castellina" has embarked in the entire company on a journey across the anthroposophic principles of Rudolf Steiner and have implemented biodynamics.

In the heart of Chianti Classico, in the wooded hills of oaks and junipers, and halfway between the Monti village and the Brolio Castle, situated on the slopes of a gentle hill in the village of Monti in Chianti, the "I Sodi" estate is located.
The cottage was built in 1893 and the name probably derives from the fact that it was located on a stony, not cultivated and of good texture ground.
The house reflects the traditional Leopoldo architecture with the typical use of the arches and the classic dovecote tower, which offers a magnificent view to Monte Amiata.
The vineyards extend over 12 hectares, all located around the house with optimal exposure, that allows every time to obtain grapes with very consistent and always with a very good quality characteristics.
To complete the estate, 3 hectares of olive groves and the Le Trappoline farmhouse inn in Monti di Sotto located about 2 km from the farm.
The Farm
The company owns vineyards specialized in producing Chianti Classico DOCG (designation of controlled and guaranteed origin) and Rosso Toscano IGT (Typical Geographical Indication) wines predominantly from the Sangiovese grape variety. From Chianti Classico grapes a typical grappa is produced. To complete our production, the cultivation of olive trees that allows Camporena to obtain extra virgin olive oil and Chianti Classico DOP extra virgin olive oil.
Since 2010, La Camporena farm has been producing both its wines and oils from organic farming.
The first winery was built a thousand years ago by the Canons of the Cathedral of Siena. Over the centuries, it has remained an intact testimony to the importance that wine has always had in Canonica a Cerreto. The same Bishops, who were owners and have lived in Canonica a Cerreto for three hundred years, have changed only what was essential.
In 2003, we decided also to build a new winery, now necessary, in order to achieve maximum efficiency in both winemaking and aging. If it is absolutely true that the quality of wine begins in the vineyard, it is also true that nowadays you can not do without a modern winery that offers the best hygienic conditions and goes along with the various processes that a wine needs in order to to achieve the maximum expression of a territory and of the vines that compose it.
Fermentation takes place in steel vats and aging in small oak barrels, which are normally used for about three years.
More than 1000 years of history: the most ancient document that testifies the existence of Cusona dates back to the year 994, to come to the 70s: Prince Girolamo Strozzi (founder and first president of the Consortium of Vernaccia) starts the marketing of wines in the world, which still runs with his wife Irina and his two daughters Natalia and Irina jr. In 1999, moreover, the expansion of the activity of winemaking in the Tuscan Maremma (Bolgheri, Scansano, Montemassi) and Pantelleria took place. In the Guicciardini Strozzi Estates different types of wines are produced. Among the most prestigious labels, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, already produced for the first time in the estate in the thirteenth century and recited by Dante, Michelangelo, Boccaccio, as well as drunk in the Court of the Medici, who sent it to the Pope. Sparkling wine and grappa from Vernaccia grapes. Among the historic red wines, Sdole and Millanni, created to celebrate the 1000 years of the Estate.
