25 hectares of vines, Marco and his sons, produce about 100,000 bottles per year, including the Marsala Superiore DOC Reserve and the sweet Vigna La Miccia, as well as the sweet Inzolia of Samperi, not classified. Marco also produces Bukkuram, a Moscato di Pantelleria Wine that has contributed much to the new rise of that sweet wine. Marco was for a time president of the Regional Institute of Wine and Vine, a role that gave him the difficult task of trying to be diplomatic and conventional. He did not always managed, which explains why an ambiguous legal action was brought against him, that blocked part of his production for years, until recently, when he was acquitted of all charges.

Thanks to a great passion handed down from father to son for five generations, Cantine Nicosia has now become a reality in the foreground of Sicilian winemaking. A dynamic, modern and efficient company, able to look to the future with full respect for tradition, with the leadership of Carmelo Nicosia, flanked by his two sons Francesco and Graziano, a close team of young employees and, last not least, the oenologist Maria Carella, authentic interpreter of the production philosophy.

To promote the most suited viticultural areas in Sicily in an environmentally responsible way, to prioritize the most valuable native vines and grape varieties which have adapted in the best way to the Sicilian territory, to enhance the raw material with a careful selection of grapes and constant care in the work in the winery. These are the elements at the base of the long and exciting path undertaken by Cantine Nicosia towards quality so as to produce wines worthy of representing the best Sicilian wine culture.

A path that Francesco and Graziano Nicosia are ready to carry on in the wake of innovation marked by their father, to continue to honor the family tradition and shout to the world that "the Sicilian wine is a wonderful thing!".
