The idea of the company was conceived a few years ago by the passion for the world of wine by Stefano Bondanelli, a geologist who, after having obtained the title of AIS sommelier, graduated also in Viticulture and Oenology at the Alma Mater University of Bologna becoming oenologist.
With the participation of Laura Fagioli (as a partner) and Laura Brignone (partner and legal representative) an agricultural society was created, originally called "Villa d’Este" by virtue of the origins from Ferrara of the founders. Meanwhile, the training program of the oenologist was completed with important experiences at wineries of Romagna and Marche. In the summer of 2013 the new brand "Vigna degli Estensi" was registered.
The mission has two key objectives: the quality of products on the one hand, respect and enhancement of the environment on the other. The project is therefore achieved with the help of all the tools provided by technology, in full compatibility and environmental sustainability.
On the wonderful Marche hills, about 220 m above sea level, in the hinterland of Senigallia, there is a unique land, of clay and limestone, that combined with the saline air from the nearby sea welcomes as the only mother ground two native grape varieties from which two exceptional wines come: Lacrima di Morro d’Alba DOC and Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC.
Perfumes and history led us to plant them in 2008 on four hectares adjacent to the Estate allowing us to produce four labels between Base and Superior, all vinified in single–variety. With a plant order in the vineyard equal to 5,700 plants per hectare cultivated with Guyot with a production reduced to a single kg of grapes per vine.
In the field we do not use herbicides nor chemical fertilizers; the winemaking process uses traditional methods with low environmental impact: our aim is integrated Bio–Dynamic. Harvest is done only by hand and being in the winery within the vineyard area, pressing is made within one hour from collection, allowing to reduce to 50% the use of sulfites, compared to traditional methods.
The use in the cellar of the most innovative winemaking techniques allows to work grapes and juice in the total absence of oxygen and to preserve and maximize the typical aromas of Lacrima and Verdicchio. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperature using a geothermal plant powered 100% by renewable sources.
Along the Musone valley from the sea to the inland, leaving behind, built on the hills that line it, before Loreto, with the majestic dome of its basilica, then the strongholds of Castelfidardo and Osimo, you reach the village of Casenuove; taking the gravel road in front of the old bishop’s palace you step into our company: on top on the right corner there is a vineyard, clinging to the southern slope of the "Monte Torto" hill, right above the archaeological site of "Monte Torto di Casenuove" where a production plant of the Roman period (I century BC - II century AD) for the processing of grapes and olives was brought to light; a little further down on the left there is the cellar, obtained in charming barrel vault rooms of the old "Casone", a residence and agricultural center of the vast "Tenuta di Monte Torto" estate, owned by the bishops of Osimo, from the medieval period until 1861, then farmhouse with sharecropping care until recent years.
The name of our wines is linked to the history of the territory in which they are made: during the sharecropping period the owner had divided his possessions in various agricultural funds with attached farmhouse and had entrusted the management families; each fund was identified by a name: Casone, Monte Torto, Monticello etc. This economic organization no longer exists, but the landscape and farming architecture of this land bear traces of it and those names are still alive today in our labels.
From this natural, cultural, historical and social heritage and from human labor our products are created: grapes are those of the adjacent to the winery vineyards: 6.3 hectares in total, 4 of Montepulciano, 1 of Merlot, 1 of Fiano and 0.3 of Incrocio Manzoni.
As for wines, it is up to you to judge them; come and visit us: on the occasion, in addition to taste our products, you can visit the winery and the archaeological site; we are open all year round, on Fridays from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and on Saturdays from 9:00 to 12:00 am and from 3:00 to 7:00 pm.

In Maiolati Spontini, in the heart of Verdicchio, it is still possible to live intense, full of humanity and respect experiences. The passion of two friends, love for the beauty of our land, the professionalism of those who have always been used to face the challenges, gave life to this new project.
Started in 2004, we found an old vineyard in one of the best Verdicchio Classico areas. Exposure to the northeast, the low yields and the care of the grapes are the conditions to create a product with unique characteristics: freshness and texture, complexity and drinkability. Our mission is to create a wine that stands out, but a wine to drink often and with pleasure, even in the most common occasions.
Polenta winery is a small family–run farm that is strictly artisanal. Located in the heart of the Conero Park between the sunny hills of the Mount, above the bay of Portonovo, surrounded by a natural and perfectly preserved landscape. The company has about 3 hectares of "white lands" (calcareous on clay base) devoted to the vineyard, carefully chosen by location and exposure out of the 10 hectares of the estate. The production of wine is made from grapes of Montepulciano conducted with the farming system of spurred cordon and is the result of a project begun in 2002 in collaboration with the friend oenologist Mr. Giancarlo Soverchia.
The aphorism chosen to represent our production is a metaphor used by Dante to depict the human soul that, as wine, is made from the union of the sun’s heat (the divine soul) with the sap of the vine (the natural soul).
Podere Santa Lucia is an independent winery that produces unique wines from local varieties of our region: Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and Lacrima di Morro d’Alba. Ours is a family business concentrated in the production of local wines
maintaining quality and distinction, combining tradition and technology.
Our philosophy is to produce authentic wines that reflect the natural, typical features of our land and our vines as naturally as possible without artificial forcing.
This reflects our philosophy and the philosophy of drinking well and healthy.
This allows us to have a special attention towards the vegetative stages of the vine, a careful attention to combating diseases of the plant itself, performing an integrated farming. This means checking the climate ranges and the state of the vines and intervene only when necessary with environmentally friendly products, to bring to the maturation of healthy grapes.
Azienda Agricola Gatti Marco grows over 7 hectares of specialized vineyards and has a wine cellar with capacity of more than 400 hectoliters of wine.
The type of company, as proven by numbers, is that of a small company that aims to obtain from its own vineyards limited quantity of grapes and then get excellent wines.
In the winery you can taste: Verdicchio di Matelica "Villa Marilla" (dedicated to the women of the company) and from September 2014 also in the Riserva DOCG version, the full–bodied and structured IGT red "Demarco", the Volgore IGT Rosato rosé, the IGT white wines, as "La Fantasia del Gatto" and Tavola Bianco.
The wines can be purchased depending on the type and time of the year in carboys, jugs and bottles.
Luce Sole farm is located in Varano, in the Municipality of Ancona, within the natural park of Conero, place of origin and cultivation of Rosso Conero. The farm has several vineyards with old clones of Montepulciano.
The vineyards are based on the Varano hill at about 200 meters of height, on calcareous clay soil. The special microclimate of Conero and the continuous exposure to the sea winds allows lighting and optimum temperatures for a production of grapes and oils of great quality.
All production is concentrated only on what belongs to the tradition of the area: on wine, on extra virgin olive oil and on the wild cherries in infusion in Montepulciano.

Azienda Agricola Benigni company is located in San Paolo di Jesi, a small fraction of the town of Jesi, 40 kilometers from Ancona.
This area is also the smallest of the famous Castelli di Jesi, hence the name of the wine of the whole area: Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi.
The Benigni family has been producing wine since the early XX century: it is a family–owned firm, historic in the local landscape.
Since 1997 Maurizio Benigni and oenologist Sergio Paolucci have decided to start a grape selection aimed at a limited but of high quality yield, supported by modern methods of vinification and bottling.
Today, thanks to the passion combined with respect for culture and tradition of winemaking, the Benigni company produces two DOC of excellent quality: VERDICCHIO DEI CASTELLI DI JESI "BENIGNI" and "LA SCAPPIA".
The recognition of such commitment is guaranteed by prestigious clients including the BRITISH MIDLAND BMI who decided to serve aboard business class our wine and even some hotels in QATAR.
Our brand highlights two very important aspects: our many years of experience given by four generations in the wine making field and the strong link with the environment and the local area especially with the town of Staffolo, commonly considered a privileged territory and suitable for the production of a great Italian white wine, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico.
Our small business (8 ha of vineyards), the family management, the new knowledge and agro–wine techniques and the new winery, equipped with the most modern production technologies, bring us today, as yesterday, to differentiate the production of typical wines of high quality, but at a fair price.
The Vineyards
Our eight hectares of vineyard fall entirely within the Municipality of Stafford, and are distributed in four different districts: Salmagina, Castellaretta, Campagliano, Filellu, each distinguished by its unique terroir.
The viticultural heart of our company is the vineyard of 5 hectares in the Salmagina, historically one of the most known and suitable for the production of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico, which gives a hint of minerals, of very strong taste, due to the particular brackish nature of its lands, most likely due to the presence of saline in the past.
This explains the origin of the name of this district, namely "Salmagina".
Our red grapes, characteristic of the territory, are Sangiovese and Montepulciano, all grown in the plot of land, called "Filellu".
Next to the Verdicchio, our prevalent native white grape variety, interesting is the recent discovery of an old vine, also typical of the area, the Incrocio Bruni 54 (Sauvignon x Verdicchio).
In effect, it was present in the 60s – 70s between the rows of Verdicchio, then over time it was gradually shelved because of its low yield, also evidenced by the small size of its cluster.
All varieties, both white and red, are trained with Guyot method, on medium soils (limestone, sand, clay), benefiting from a truly optimal exposure from south–west, south to south–east.
Three generations joined by one great passion: love for their Land; they are the foundation that gave birth to Azienda Agraria Angeli di Varano farming company.
It is from the history of the Chiucconi family that the challenge of the two brothers Lorenzo and Matteo comes, determined in accordance with the traditions to produce the best grapes to get the absolute excellence of Rosso Conero, giving in this way to this excellent wine the luster it deserves.
Thanks to more serious and surly of the vines and not without giving credit to the many tips by the veterans of this land, the Chiucconi brothers chose the best clones and exposures of a Conero "cru" to plant the main grape variety of this area, the precious MONTEPULCIANO.
The perfect maturation of the grapes is given by the night breeze, the excellent exposure of the vineyards, the grape selection in the field combined with a manual harvest and the proximity of the vineyards to the winery allows us to interpret in the best way the needs of the natural transformation of the fruit and allows especially to excel in quality. Thus arriving to get a healthy and completely intact product.
"CASALETA" originates from the real name of the place where even today the proprietary house welcomes us.
Our company is located in the Marche region, in Serra de’ Conti in the province of Ancona.
For three generations, our family has been transforming the fruits of the land in typical products of excellence; initially in the world of butchery–pork products and then also in agriculture, thanks to the strong attachment to the land and traditions.
In the seventies, cultivating these passions, our father bought a small farm dedicated to the production of wheat, sunflowers, sugar beet and oil.
In the early nineties he expanded its passion for agriculture and started the production of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi buying an uncontaminated valley in Castiglioni di Arcevia, in which a vineyard of eleven hectares is located, devoting himself to it with such passion and desire to make it better, passion then picked up by the whole family.
In 2010, the awareness of having an original vine with unique samples of more than seventy years, of typical of the place organoleptic characteristics, has been the key element in the decision to become a winery.
This was the origin of our biggest challenge: a wine cellar and a wine under its own brand of high quality in the land of Verdicchio Classico.
In the face of a more than half a century old vineyard there are those who harvest, not us: we save the valuable genetic material and we increment it to preserve and maintain the original flavor of the past, vine after vine, reproducing by scions of the "old ladies" the clones of the old Verdicchio so as the old landraces are a real territorial heritage.
