The company is located in the hills of San Paolo di Jesi, in a small town of the Marche hinterland. Present for several generations, the farm began its winemaking activity in the 60s and is managed by Enrico and his son Mauro, with the collaboration of the whole family.

The careful work in the vineyard and in the wine cellar have contributed to the improvement of quality, focusing exclusively on the specific nature of the grape variety.

The results, more and more prestigious, are the result of the excellent quality of the grapes, commitment and passion of those who work in the company with great professionalism.



The winery



The winery, where exclusively grapes from our vineyards are processed and where their products are created and preserved, was built in 1997 to meet the changing needs of space and be able to blend new technologies with the teachings of the local tradition.



In addition to the most modern and functional steel barrels and other advanced equipment we still keep precious and functional, the wooden barrels of our grandparents and our parents from which we will be happy to tap the individual characteristics of each.

The Rio Maggio wines are the result of this way of thinking: wine is made from a mix of land, labor, surrounding scents, commitment, and is made with its own soul, that must be respected, valued and protected.



The company’s philosophy is precisely to meet the individual varieties aiming to make "wines of the vineyard", also thanks to thinning and repeated passages during harvest, where the best clusters are carefully chosen.



The quality and naturalness of wine are the keystone of the company and production philosophy, witnessed by important choices like hand–picking, the limited use of sulfur, low impact phyto–sanitary products and careful and scrupulous winemaking techniques.



Values that can then be translated into a practical commitment, into attention to the many details and, finally, in a quality product.

The current agricultural company is located in the hills on a tuffaceous sandy soil and is made up of about 22 hectares of vineyards and 400 olive trees. They are cultivated in the DOC area of the grapes of Bianchello del Metauro and Sangiovese, and, moreover, the Montepulciano, Cabernet, Vernaccia Rossa grape varieties are grown in six different vineyards located in the hills overlooking the valley of the river Metauro.

The production facility consists of a winery situated in Mondavio, in Sant’Andrea di Suasa locality, and of an aging and bottling cellar in Fano with offices and tasting room.

Modern winemaking equipment are used for the soft pressing of the skins, the temperature control of fermentation, the settling of musts.

In order to achieve maximum results from the organoleptic result of Bianchello, recently the company has introduced an innovative processing system defined in "reduction", which is to avoid the contact of the must, as it is obtained, with the air. This result is achieved by spraying the grapes with liquid carbon dioxide in the form of dry ice. The process ends with skin maceration in the juice at low temperatures from 5 to 12 hours (maceration), after which, the juice is sent on to the fermentation tanks.
The red grapes instead are worked in the traditional way by diversifying fermentation temperatures, maceration times that are more or less long and refinements in steel or in barrels according to the type of wine to be obtained.

The annual production is about 110,000 bottles.

Azienda Quacquarini company was born to live in Serrapetrona, to give voice to Vernaccia di Serrapetrona, to give the pleasure of passion to the work of the vineyard and winery; because these are the places that most effectively express the work of the vintner.

Alberto Quacquarini is the founder of this company. His passion is expressed in terms of entrepreneurial courage, in genuine force, a strong belief in his own land when many people emigrated. The fate lies, but the walk of life is up to passions; Alberto, assisted by the indomitable character of his wife Francesca, has challenged the events of life, and together have laid solid foundations for future generations.

Monica, is femininity declined in the business world: quiet and discreet but efficient and forward–looking. Pragmatism is her most obvious gift and difficulty mistakes in forecasts. Her daily expertise, shared with her husband Enea, is oriented mainly in the confectionery, where she poured all her delicate feminine sensibility. Luca, the second son, has certainly inherited DNA that binds this family to the land and to vines. Attentive to the signs of nature, living in perfect harmony with its territory of traditions and intuitive innovations.

Experience filtered by the meticulousness make the wines that builds in the vineyard and in the wine cellar, balanced, customized, possible children exclusively of that territory. Mauro, the youngest of the three, is the contemporary managerial expression of the family. Entrepreneur for genetic destiny, has the capacity of synthesis between the ancient and the modern, the homeland and the rest of the world.

He sees, realizes and lives the production decisions of the company, dealing entirely with its business profile. A synergy that has seen transfer all the business knowledge of his parents in a modern production and efficient but old traditions where the common denominator is the belief that ideas model and modify life without however losing sight of the focus each bunch of grapes, in each wine bottle as well as in each chocolate, biscuit or nougat ...

Cantina Ma.ri.ca.

CANTINA Ma.Ri.Ca. winery. It adopts the latest technology for making wine: so it enhances the quality of the raw material, allowing to better express the organoleptic characteristics of the wines produced. The great commitment of expert vintners and a scrupulous adherence to the hygienic conditions in winemaking are the only means to achieve the objectives of quality business goals.

The exterior of the basement is divided in a logical and rational way to facilitate the processing of white grapes on one side of the building and of red grapes on the other. There are two different hoppers for transfer of the harvested produce, a kit composed of three macerators for red wine making and a kit of vertical fermenters for white wine making. All winemakers are thermo–conditioned and completed by a pneumatic press to ensure soft pressing of grapes.



The interior



The alcoholic fermentation of must continue within the wine cellar where, always in the aim of "modern winery", steel surfaces are the protagonists, ensuring maximum hygiene and ease of sanitizing operations.

Once completed the aging of wines, the winery owns a bottling line in the place for packaging.
