A seventy years long love ... with grandfather Daniele that on 6th February 1930 purchases the central body of the Venica company, the farmhouse with the surrounding vineyards. From 1930 to our days, in the name of a harmonious generational change, 70 years of dedication, sacrifices and achievements have been spent, in a synergistic relationship between the charming Collio and the constant, unceasing love for the vineyards and the grapes.

Gianni, Georgio and Giampaolo Venica are autochthonous winemakers that estimate and engage in enhancing their own traditions with continuous research and innovation: "Our effort is also directed to understand and know the characteristics of the many microclimates present in our property in order to create a mosaic of the diversities of the various sites".

DORO PRINCIC grabbed, at the beginning of the 60s, the first stimuli that the new born Consortium of the COLLIO DOC Wines – Count Douglas ATTEMS in the lead – offered, in terms of quality of grapes and wines of the future, especially for the great white wines, represented by a bottle. Intelligent, serious as a few are, and attentive to every innovation, he was one of the first to focus on bottling and to study in depth the adaptability to the soils of Pradis (marl and sandstone) of French grape varieties such as Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon, without denying his beloved Friulian Tocai. With the wisdom of always, accentuated after the fateful 80th birthday, DORO has been able to gradually hand over the reins to his son Alessandro, who grew up harmoniously beside him and with whom he still lives, in health and lucidity, “pampered” as befits a “grand old man” by the good feelings of his daughter–in–law, Maria Grazia, and his grandson CARLO, student of oenology in Cividale del Friuli and, therefore, the guarantor of the technical future of the “DORO PRINCIC” company, a model business that keeps in its BRAND and in its label the name of the founder.

Damijan Podversic

Damijan Podeversic’s wines are among the most special and representative expressions of Collio Goriziano.

Natural wines, produced from grapes grown according to the rules of biodynamic agriculture, selected and vinified according to the most careful naturalness. Aged in large casks and then in bottle for at least two years. These wines are intense, elegant and at the same time very drinkable. They are representative of the territory where they come from.

Castello di Spessa

Raccaro Dario

That of Dario Raccaro is a historical company. Founded in 1928, managed first by his grandfather and then by his father, initially had only a small vineyard and a stable for the animals. From the eighties onwards, Dario has marked a productive shift in the company: he rented a few hectares of vineyard, and abandoned the less profitable crops, to focus almost exclusively on wine. Of him was also the decision to plant Pinot Gray and Sauvignon to create the excellent Collio Bianco.



At the beginning of the nineties the market of Malvasia and Tocai was not as good as today, but Dario has never stopped believing strongly in these varieties and to enhance them. So much so that some of the most flattering recognition by the critics came right on the typical Tocai. Raccaro is also the president of the municipal winehouse of Cormons, which over the years has become a reference point for all producers of Collio and promotional vehicle of primary importance for this extreme eastern tip of the peninsula.

Ronco del Gelso

I am Giorgio Badin and together with my family I am the owner and the tenant of Ronco del Gelso.

Mine is a company of about twenty hectares of vineyards located in Cormons, a village at the foot of the hills of the Collio of Gorizia, in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. My vineyards are located in that short stretch of plains that goes from the hills to the Adriatic Sea, a few kilometers far. The soils are thin, stony, dry, ideal for the cultivation of vines. The climate is tempered by sea breezes and mountains to the north, that protect us from cold winds. Thanks to this particular microclimate, here we produce mainly white wines with good structure and aromatic quality and some red ones, as our tradition says.

EDI KEBER winery is a family-owned business that produces high-quality wines using traditional methods. Ivan Vogric

The company consists of 11 hectares of vineyards, of which 9 around the company center. It lies on the gentle hillside of the Collio with a northern exposure. This position accompanied by the marly soil (ponca) gives an excellent freshness to white wines. The company has specialized in the whites, with a particular focus on sauvignon. 40,000 vines grow on 11 hectares of vineyards. With a land improvement, which is already underway, in a few years there will be 50,000 on the same surface. Here about 700 quintals of grapes are produced per year. This means that the focus is on the highest quality. The harvest is strictly manual to maintain the highest quality. Currently in the bottles signed by Ivan Vogrič we find Friulano, Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Cabernet sauvignon as a red, which ages in oak barrels for 2 years. In future projects there is the bottling of Pinot grigio and perhaps some bubbles ...
