The Casadei Estate is the fulfillment of a dream conceived by a father, an agricultural consultant, and implemented by his son, a winemaker entrepreneur, willing to put his passion for the vine to service of a project of his own: to make local wines, fruit of the land, of the sun, of water and of the work of man, in a modern productive and efficient context. The dream became reality in 1996 when Stefano bought a property of 15 hectares in the area of Suvereto, in high Maremma, 15 km from the central coast of Tuscany, about 90 km south of Livorno.
Located in the southern part of the district of the Val di Cornia DOC, at an altitude of just over 50 meters, the estate is located in an area of low hills, sheltered by mountains to the North East. The natural vegetation is typical of the Mediterranean Sea, with a prevalence of cork oaks, arbutus and pine trees.
A unique territory, capable of producing precious wines, fruit of international grapes that can express the aromas and the charm of the Mediterranean environment of these areas.
The “Pigno” Farm of the Martari family is located in the beautiful countryside of Villafranca di Verona, in a typical farmhouse of early twentieth century, completely restored.
Father Roberto, together with his sons Bruno and Stefano, gave in recent years a new impetus to the company, combining modern technology with the natural vocation of this land for wine. The passion of Bruno and Stefano, inherited from their father, has been refined by the participation in numerous courses organized by ONAV.
The company currently distributes its products to restaurants and wine bars in the Veneto, Lombardy, Friuli, Piedmont and Emilia regions.
A name. A family. The name is that of the founder, Paolo Scavino, who in 1921 in Castiglione Falletto, in the heart of the Langhe, in one of the historic towns of Barolo, gave birth to the farm and started immediately to bottle the best wine.
The name remained, even after the passing of Paolo Scavino. It is a memory, a sign of affection, of gratitude. Today there are two generations of Scavino. Enrico has followed in the footsteps of dad Paolo since he was a child, and has seen the fruits of their labor grow. Step by step, almost on tiptoe, Enrico and Anna Maria are taking over the company bringing new passion and expertise.
A family history of men and women of Langa, tied to the land, to the vineyards, to the paces of the ancient province of Piedmont. It seems to see the roots of the Scavino family in these lands that are the fortune of those born there: here they produce Barolo, made exclusively with native Nebbiolo grapes, one of the greatest wines of the world.
Les Crêtes wine company was founded in 1989 in Aymavilles (Valle d’Aosta), thanks to the work of Costantino Charre, and today is run by his family, who owns a historic water mill of the eighteenth century and the ancient wine cellars of Via Moulins, and has been responsible for five generations for agro–food products. The area of cultivation of vineyards covers 25 hectares along the orographic axis of Dora Baltea in the municipalities of Saint Pierre, Aymavilles, Gressan, Sarre, Aosta and Saint Christophe.
The production area, which originated in a difficult mountain territory, is characterized by fragmentation of vineyards and high density of planting (8,000–9,000 feet/ha) due to the slope of the land, whose moraine and sandy soils are ideal for the cultivation of numerous native and international varieties.
Azienda Agricola Dindo is located in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, on a famous hill called Monte Sant’Urbano, in Fumane. From here you can admire the beautiful and fascinating views that cover the entire Valpolicella, the neighboring city of Verona, until you reach the beautiful Lake Garda.
The main vineyards of property are located in the most suited area in Valpolicella, at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level, showing a terraced landscape with dry stone walls.
A bit of our history
The awareness of the treasure made of the wisdom we have received by two generations, made of tough sacrifices, tireless arms and firm values, unfortunately has to face the bitter experience to see everything we do ignored and sometimes trampled by people animated only by the lucrative concept of industrialization. From the union of mixed emotions, very strong, the desire to make know a more natural, more authentic face of our work, which is fulfilled with Azienda Agricola La Vinarte. Its roots lie in the period after the first world war, when the desire for rebirth was strong in every heart, even in that of grandfather Vito and grandmother Sabia, who planted the first vines, perhaps unaware of starting a story that has been going on for 70 years. In effect, the passion was picked up by father Filippo and mother Filomena, who founded the modern farm to which they have been devoting lovingly, year after year, making significant improvements in quality, planting vineyards in different zones of the Frentana area, emphasizing the different terroirs in the grapes. Those great emotions have been transmitted, involving us in various business activities in our childhood, to us children: Vito, Luciano and Domenico. Today we deal personally, with every single activity within the company, taking advantage of a good technical and scientific preparation, of course taking into account the valuable advice of the more than forty years of experience of our parents, who still give their daily contribution. Our challenge is to give the right value to the generosity of the product that the earth has to offer.
La Vinarte, because ...
We are both farmers and a little bit craftsmen. Cultivating vines and making wine are not considered just as a job, but more than anything else a Passion that involves us inspiring new ideas, always giving us great emotions. Being able to collect every feeling and place them in a simple bottle is possible only thanks to the uniqueness of this nectar.
We do not want just to produce wine, but to share these emotions.
Azienda Agricola Cocciacavallo is a small family–run company located in the hills o Irpinia in the South of Italy about 450 meters above sea level. “Cocciacavallo” because our grandfather in the early twentieth century was a vinegrower and made wine, obviously not like we do nowadays, but in large wooden vats, where in the evening, we all squashed the harvested grapes with bare feet. So we did up to about fifty years ago, when with the advent of the first manual crushers we started to abandon this method which is still in the memories of the oldest, leaving a sense of nostalgia. “Cocciacavallo” because our grandfather was nicknamed in this way for his stubbornness, from which the name of the area originates.
We produce Fiano di Avellino, a fine wine, ancient, it is said that its origins date back to the ancient peoples of the Phoenicians, and then was imported on the peninsula by the Romans who appreciated a lot its noble and delicate taste, and was called Apianum because bees were greedy of its sweet berries. And it is one of the few white wines in the world, that due to its structure is very suitable for aging.
Aglianico is also produced, a wine of ruby red color tending to garnet, suitable for long aging, during which it develops intense and complex aromas and flavours. Counted among the finest wines of Italy, made from the native grape of the same name. The excellent product obtained is the result of a perfect blend of special ingredients: land, climate, grapes of the lush vineyards located on the beautiful hills of Irpinia, between 400 and 700 meters, and the meticulous work of man. Dating back to the Etruscan period, was made famous all around the world and led to a turning point in wine production in Irpinia.
The processing of the vines is even today manual and mechanical, in particular, without using herbicides, pesticides nor chemical fertilizers, but organic fertilization is practiced planting grass, while for treatments traditional products such as copper and sulfur in small doses are used.
Wine is made through a long process in large casks, with natural fermentation, following the ancient and good practices handed down from father to son, to say, with native yeasts present on grapes and without any addition nor additive, so that wine retains all its typical original properties, Then, decanting takes place, and then a further maturation and aging in cask until bottling, that occurs no earlier than June/July of the year following the harvest. Sulfur dioxide has been reduced to a minimum and in bottling vanishes almost completely. The company has always sided itself with a sustainable agriculture and against the use of any type of toxic or invasive product for the protection of plants and animals and of man. Of course, quality is not synonymous with quantity, therefore, production is limited.
We, of Tenute Mantegna Srl, come from the land, from passion, from love for a territory, which took us over the years, in Irsina (Mt), to start our business made up of fields, hard work, passion and love for the grapes. The decision to work the land was hard and at the same time important, after several years of hard work we are happy to see that the fruits of our effort are welcomed and appreciated by the palates of our customers.
Today Tenute Mantegna is an established brand in the wine sector, a brand synonymous with quality wine, seriousness and service of the company as a guarantee to the consumer. Our mission is to transfer the aromas and flavors that distinguish our wines and our land to all those lovers of real good wine.
The farm, owned by the Cerutti family since the early twentieth century, has an extension of about 12 hectares. The land, gently collimated, stretches around the farmhouse, the recently build winery and the arcade, that now is used as a shelter for tools. The land of the company was cultivated, up to the 50s or so, as arable soil, allowing in this way the breeding of cattle. All the work was done by hand or with rudimentary equipment pulled by oxen. Limited was the cultivation of grapes, with only a few scattered rows that interrupted the expanse of fields. The grapes produced was sufficient for family needs. It was collected, placed in a vat and pressed with feet. The must was transported in wooden barrels where it fermented and underwent the natural transformation into wine.
In 1948 the intensive cultivation of vines began, as it was understood that this activity was most suitable for the hilly terrain. For the first time, they carried out the trenching of the soil by mechanical means: a high–power tractor towing a plow capable of digging 1 meter deep furrows. Moreover, the espalier method of vine cultivation (a vine after the other, horizontally) was, this latter, a very important innovation, as it allowed the use of mechanical means for working the soil in an easy, fast and complete way. Furthermore, the product also receives more sun’s heat and fungicide treatments. Within 20 years or so, we reached 10 hectares of vineyards in production.
Red grapes such as Croatina, Barbera, Uva Rara, Pinot and Cabernet, and white grapes such as Riesling, Moscato, Malvasia and Chardonnay, are grown here. Most of the produce is pressed and vinified in the cellar of the company, following controlled methods, complying with the rules, but homemade. A portion of the produce is brought to the “La Versa” Cooperative Winery. Until two decades ago, vinification took place in a wine cellar adjacent to the old house. Space was limited and uncomfortable.
La Sabbiona is situated in a panoramic location on the beautiful hills surrounding the ancient tower of Oriolo Dei Fichi, in the heart of Romagna, a few kilometers from Faenza. The company has 28 hectares of land, 12 destined to vineyards, while the rest is planted with cereals, fruit and Scalogno di Romagna I.G.P.
Our love for wine has led us to develop the vinegrowing and winemaking activities, searching for genuineness and quality of products.
With the manual selection of grapes during harvest, we get D.O.C. and I.G.T. wines of the highest quality, typical of Romagna.
Our attention is towards the preservation of ancient indigenous varieties of vines, one of these is Centesimino, that gives rise to the wine called Red Sauvignon.
In the heart of the charming Valdarda, among lush vineyards, in the presence of a charming medieval village, our wine company is located.
Its origins go back to 1930, founded by Cav. Italo, the highest figure of the contemporary oenology of Piacenza, an exemplary man for the complete dedication to this difficult activity and for being the promoter of the development and for the designation of origin of the wines of the area.
Over the years, the company has been expanded and renovated with the continuous supply of land plots planted with vines, in order to get a complete production autonomy.
Currently, the business is run by his sons Luigi and Franco who continue the family tradition with passion in this important sector of Italian agriculture.
Every step, from pruning of vines, to maturation, from pressing to bottling, is made with the utmost care. Every step is marked by controls of experts, in order to optimize the quality of these wines and give prestige and image to the company that produces them.
Ca’ Bolani Estate is located in the heart of the Aquileia DOC and is spread over three different properties: Ca’ Bolani, Molin di Ponte, Ca’ Vescovo and covers a total area of over 800 hectares, of which 550 are vineyards, representing in this way the widest extension grown with vines in Northern Italy. It has also a special microclimate compared to other areas, registering a more temperate climate in winter and fresher in summer, for the combined effect of the proximity of the sea. For this reason, it is part of the so–called Alpha climate zone, the area where in the harvest period the daily temperature ranges from 5 to 20 degrees and the heat summations observed correspond to those of other famous wine–growing areas in Europe.
Ca’ Bolani Estate was actually the first winemaking reality to be acquired in 1970 by the Zonin family outside the Veneto region, and today it is one of the most prestigious wineries in Friuli protagonists in the production of white wines, appreciated all over the world.
Eased down on the gentle hills of San Ginesio, an ancient village of the Piceno area, the company covers a land particularly suited for the ripening of grapes. The soil is of average mixture, and gives to wine great structure and full color. The climate is typical of high hill, but sunny, and substantial temperature ranges between night and day define aromas, making wine unique for the maturation of grapes in excellent conditions.
The owner Valerio Lucarelli, convinced of the importance of a patient research on quality and supported by the passion for the production of wine, has continued to run the traditional and family winehouse combining wisely the ancient wine science with modern technologies, tradition with evolution. From cultivation of grapes in the vine to bottling, each step is made with special care and constant attention, to obtain wines of unique aromas and scents.
Aware of the strict bond between culture and development, for Valerio another goal is to present, together with the product, also tradition and the history of the territory with its architectural and artistic beauties.
Regarding tradition, in the old wine cellar an ancient beverage, typical of the Marche region, was produced: cooked wine. The must of local grapes was boiled on direct fire on copper boilers, until one third of it evaporated.
