Tastings, meetings with national and international players and insights into the topics of cycle tourism and sport.

Time to take stock for the Morellino di Scansano Consortium, which upon returning from Vinitaly is already working to build its future with actions that aim to affirm and consolidate the positioning of Morellino in the panorama of the great Italian wines.

Morellino is a dynamic wine, which is growing also thanks to the commitment of the 220 members who, assisted by the Consortium board, constantly work in synergy on the quality and image of this Sangiovese from the Tuscan Coast. One of a kind, just as the territory from which it comes is unique: a portion of Maremma between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the slopes of Mount Amiata.

For us, Vinitaly confirms itself as an unmissable event – comments Bernardo Guicciardini Calamai, president of the Consortium – because it allows us to talk, once again, about Morellino: a wine that knows how to distinguish itself from other denominations, which is born and matures in a unique, uncontaminated and authentic territory, an ideal destination for wine tourism and outdoor sports. A wine that knows how to express itself inside and outside the glass and that pairs perfectly with other worlds such as, for example, that of sport ."

Captivating graphics which, like in a contemporary comic, invite us to enter a world waiting to be discovered made up of rolling hills and ancient villages "with sea view". Thus the stand, presented at Vinitaly by the Consortium of the now well-known Rosso Morellino, leads us to the dominant theme presented this year during the Verona event: wine tourism experienced while riding a bicycle.

The tourism cycle – explains Alessio Durazzi, director of the Consortium – is growing strongly. Taking advantage of the long wave of its success and the beauty of the landscapes that characterize the territory of our denomination, we have decided to promote the Morellino di Scansano brand also through the many experiences that tourists have the opportunity to live in the territory. The dedicated portal, Visitmorellino, will accompany him in his choice. The world of cycling - concludes Durazzi - is a strategic lever for us and its presence in our area is increasingly widespread. For this reason, this year too, we will be partners of InGravel ”.

In fact, Vinitaly was chosen to present the second edition of InGravel Morellino together with its creators, Andrea Gurayev and Werner Peruzzo and other important figures from the world of two wheels, including Alessandro Ballan (World Champion in line 2008) and Riccardo Magrini (Eurosport commentator): the event is in Maremma from 20 to 22 September.
