Also this year "Calici di Stelle", the big party organized by the Wine Tourism Movement in collaboration with the Cities of Wine that until August 10th gathers wine lovers from all over Italy to experience the charm of summer nights between toasts, melodies, shows and constellations.
As always in "Calici di Stelle" the greatest Italian wines will be the protagonists of a great collective toast.
As many as 130 are the Cities of Wine that – to date – host "Calici di Stelle" throughout Italy, with a varied range of tastings, shows, concerts and meetings that will enliven the squares and the most beautiful corners of the villages and the historic centers.
Many are also the location of exception that will be animated for "Calici di Stelle" 2015: from the VINO – A Taste of Italy Pavilion of Expo to the Darsena of Milan, from Vinitaly and the City Expo Edition of Verona to the wineries, squares and old towns scattered from North to South. Toasts looking at the stars, Tastings at the sea or in the mountain refuges of Cortina d’Ampezzo, shows, exhibitions, extraordinary evening openings of historical buildings and museums, eco–jeep tour in the vineyards, open–air movie theater, free museums, guided tours, trekking through the vineyards, but also shopping and markets dedicated to local products.
The common thread of all the initiatives by MTV and Cities of Wine, the three soundtracks of #suonodabere, created by the music designer Paolo Scarpellini "The most famous Italian songs in the world", "Wine in songs" and "Wine in Opera": these are the titles chosen to celebrate, on the occasion of the Universal Exhibition, the melodies and the Italian wine in the world, ranging from Italian light music to the author music, up to the tricolor opera, without forgetting the Hymn of Mameli.
The heart of the Dolomites for tastings at high altitude in Veneto. The Umbrian hills invite to be discovered in 10 Wine Tourism Movement wineries and 9 Cities of Wine. If you prefer the sea you can go to Levanto in Liguria (10th August) or to Friuli Venezia Giulia in Grado (6th–8th August). Double event in Puglia: Bari on 5th August to reach Copertino on 10th. In Basilicata, on 8th August, the combination of art, culture, food and wine accompanie the event in the old town of Matera, Capital of Culture 2019. Tuscany focuses on exhibitions, bicycle tours and film club next to tastings, winery tours and dinners between the rows. The Wine Tourism Movement Lombardy, instead, will set up a tasting counter in the cloister of the former monastery of Astino (BG) on the occasion of the "Luigi Veronelli, walking the earth" exhibition.
Gradually, in all regions of Italy we will toast in an original way: Sicily (7th–9th August), Calabria (4th–10th August) Lazio (8th and 12th August), Emilia Romagna (8th August), Sardinia (7th August) and Campania (10th August), but also in Abruzzo in the tourism harbor of Marina di Pescara (10th August).
"Calici di Stelle" is a trademark owned by the Wine Tourism Movement, registered and legally protected in order to counter any abuse/imitation and give consumers quality and professionalism in hospitality, distinctive features of the Wine Tourism Movement wineries.
