Now in its sixth year, the Vespaiolona, the "White Night" of Breganze dedicated to Vespaiolo which summons up thousands of people of all ages, takes place. For one night everyone has the opportunity to live the DOC of Breganze with intensity and spirit of participation, meeting producers and toasting to the arrival - finally - of summer, surrounded by greenery, among music, entertainment and tastings.
When the
Torcolato and Wines of Breganze Route and
Consorzio Tutela Vini DOC Breganze launched the first edition of Vespaiolona, it was a bet. It could be won only with perfect organization: it meant to deal with 3,000 people in the squares, in the wineries, among the vineyards and thedirt patches around Breganze, keeping the streets free. It was necessary to make sure that no one used the car. Therefore, to participants a shuttle bus service around the clock was guaranteed, to reach each winery and, in each company, they found open doors, wine and food tastings and parties. Everything on the occasione of the
"shortest night of the year", the one of the Friday closest to the Summer Solstice, on 21st June.
There are those who start from the square of Cantina Beato Bartolomeo, who offers music with DJ sets and concert of Idraulici del Suono, paella and apple fritters. Other start from Maculan house, in the center of Breganze, with the multi-show "Tra Fiamme, Colore e Rumba" by Camilla Costa and Brothers, sliced "bisteccona" by the Butchers of Taste and ice cream with Torcolato by the Vicentini Bakery-Pastry. Others take refuge in the legendary Brogliati Contro street, to savour the warm hospitality of Miotti (live show "A ritmo di Samba" with dancers in costume, churrasco by the Maracana Restaurant and rice and pasta salads, sandwiches and "Baccalà alla Vicentina" by Gastronomy Giuliana), the young and festive atmosphere of Col Dovigo ("Cinzia e Carlo" cover band, DJ sets at midnight and "Cittadella dei Sapori" with pizza, risotto with cod and ice cream) and the sincere welcome that unites all people of Vitacchio house (pop, jazz, blues and swing by "Marimà" and rustic dish with bread, "soppressa" of the house and Asiago cheese).
Few people do not come up on the natural stage of Ca'Biasi, surrounded by vineyards and surrounded by majestic pine trees similar to those you can find in the parks of the Roman villas. From there, the view embraces the Venetian plain, while the warmth of the Dalla Valle family does the rest. This year Innocente offers folk music by "I tini e fiaschi", art and craft demonstrations and fried fish baked in foil. It is a unique atmosphere even that offered by the Bastia Estate of Mario Saccardo, in Montecchio Precalcino, where you will find music and entertainment by Anime Ombra, "spunciotti" of meat or fish and a dessert in the end (at the Vespaiolona it will be possible to leave cars in the parking lot of Villa Cita).
In the gardens of the Old Ice House of Breganze, next to Maculan, the wineries of Giuseppe Bonollo, Gastaldia and Le Vigne di Roberto will offer their wines for tasting at the stands (with music by ARI + DJ sets, as well as pasta and beans by the personal Chef Andrea De Poli). Finally, the organic farm La Costa will await the audience at Villa Ca'Dotta, in Sarcedo: here there will be live Irish music, a photographic exhibition and guided tours of the villa, with "spunciotti" of local products by the Pro Sarcedo.
The sucess of Vespaiolona is such that the maximum number of participants was limited to 3,000, and in three days of advance sales, there were already over a thousand signatures.
