Over 630 signs for the most complete national map of Italian street food. 20 Regional Champions, symbol of the excellence and gastronomic variety of each Region.

An authentic expression of our traditions, street food is an increasingly transversal phenomenon, capable of uniting generations and social groups in the name of taste and quality food. And Gambero Rosso's Street Food Guide 2025 , now in its 10th edition, with main partner Terre Margaritelli, is its most vivid celebration: a colorful journey through squares, alleys and markets to tell the evolution of a trend which, on solid popular roots, projects almost infinite ramifications and grafts of the variety of local gastronomic excellences of each Italian region.

Osterias, sandwich shops, pizzerias, bacari, markets, chip shops are the true temples of street food, where every day millions of people participate in the ritual of eating outdoors, savoring the typical specialties of every corner of Italy. This edition of the Guide also testifies to the courage and openness to innovation towards new culinary experiences, in a melting pot of flavors and recipes, especially in large cities where contamination is increasingly frequent. It is therefore not surprising to find Japanese ravioli in Turin, pizza by the slice in Milan or fried gnocco in Cagliari among the specialties of the 20 Regional Champions of this publication. “ An attitude to gastronomic syncretism that is increasingly evident in this edition of the Street Food guide, the tenth, a decade in which Gambero Rosso has told the contemporary parable of street food in Italy ”, comments Pina Sozio, editor of the Guide .

The Guide, the Regional Champions and the Special Prize

There are 633 the most interesting addresses selected by Gambero, including permanent and itinerant businesses, to which particular attention is paid in the final appendix dedicated to the best food trucks that bring their specialties everywhere; and with the great return of the Street Food on The Road Special Award , present at the beginning of the Guide, which celebrates the excellence of traveling street food. The crown goes to Abruzzo's Bracevia - A tutto pecora which for almost twenty years has been bringing real kebabs, with high quality sheep meat, around Italy in a yellow Fiat 500.
