Here are the Guides 2016 of Radici and the new project that aggregates the top of the Puglia’s restaurants offering a sustainable and healthy cuisine
The new season of Radici starts with the re–confirmation of the activities of great success of the past and interesting and unusual projects. To enrich the evening, culinary delights presented by great chefs and pizza makers from Puglia matched to the best winemaking excellences.
These are the numbers protagonists in the three 2016 guides of Radici, the ideal tools to navigate among the many and excellent restaurants and pizzerias in Puglia together with its excellent wines: Radici Wines, Radici Restaurants and Radici Pizzerias.
The guides will be presented on Wednesday, 9 December, at 6:00 p.m. in Bitonto (Bari) at Convivium Sancti Nicolai in Piazza Cattedrale.
Radici Wines, now in its seventh edition, provides the detailed overview of the successful reality of wine from native grapes of southern Italy through photos and short stories of the 72 winning wines of Radici del Sud 2015, the Southern Wine Exhibition which over the years has been able to win admiration and popularity in our country and abroad. While the fourteenth edition of Radici Restaurants (with 109 restaurants of Puglia and surroundings) and the VI of Radici Pizzerias (with 91 reviewed pizzerias in Puglia) enclose the new realities of the Puglia’s food.
At the end of the presentation, the novelties of the eleventh edition of the Wine Show to be held in Bari in June 2016 will be explained.
Radici will start the project which will involve the established companies of Puglia’s restaurant offering a sustainable cuisine to provide a useful service to those who need to follow a special diet that takes account of intolerance without giving up the pleasures of the table. In collaboration with nutritionists, chefs honouring the local gastronomy, will offer menus available soon on the table of their restaurants able to meet the needs of those who place the bases of their wealth a certain diet and those who need to keep an eye on calories in their diet.
The project will be presented on the occasion of the release of the new editions of the Guides of Radici, in which, in addition to the editors and reviewers of the three guides, will intervene: researcher Antonio Moschetta, an expert on metabolic and inflammatory illnesses, scientific director of the oncology institute of Bari and Pippo Amoruso, dietician specialist in nutrition.
The event will continue from 8:30 p.m. indoors and on the terrace of the adjoining Il Patriarca restaurant of Bitonto where the special pizzas of the pizza maker Alessandro Pastoressa and the sandwich of Città degli Ulivi proposed by chef Emanuele Natalizio will be offered. Besides them, in the kitchen, even Rocco Violante of the 900 restaurant of Bitetto, Cosimo Russo of the Aqua restaurant of Porto Cesareo, Nicola Russo of the Al Primo Piano restaurant of Foggia and Stefano D’Onghia of the Botteghe Antiche restaurant of Putignano. The chefs will offer some dishes inspired by the fish farming and peasant traditions taking into account their health–food relationship without sacrificing the pleasure and taste.
Meanwhile you can taste at the tasting tables about 74 wines winners of the most recent edition of Radici del Sud, who will enjoy in the relative Radici Wines 2016 guide of an area of study.
Numerous are the other activities planned, in Puglia and beyond, dedicated to wines – deepening on Nero di Troia, Negroamaro, Primitivo and other vine varieties of the South in the program – and to gastronomy, in a long–planned schedule that will end with the eleventh edition of Radici del Sud (7 to 13 June 2016).
