Sandra Savaglio, Daniele Cernilli, Ian D’Agata, Anna Di Martino and Andrea Rontini: here all the winners of Casato Prime Donne 2014 Award which will be held on 14th September in Montalcino


Casato Prime Donne is organized by the first Ialian winery entirely run by women, a symbol of gender equality among the barrels. All–female is also the jury of the Casato Prime Donne 2014 Award and consists of: Francesca Cinelli Colombini (chairman), Rosy Bindi, Anselma Dell’Olio, Anna Pesenti, Stefania Rossini, Anna Scafuri and Daniela Viglione.

The jury of the Award expressed their judgment and proclaimed the winners.

One of the winners is Sandra Savaglio, astrophysics symbol of brain drain from Italy, who returns to assume the position of professor at the University of Calabria. To learn more about the Casato Prime Donne Award to Sandra Savagno

Together with her, at the Museum of Montalcino, three guru of journalism to collect their awards:


Daniele Cernilli: "I and Montalcino" Award

For the tale entitled "Quel Brunello del ’64" published in "Doctor Wine". It is a story telling of the first bottle, very expensive, purchased by the famous critic and of how he has never been able to drink it.


Ian D’Agata: "Consortium of Brunello" Award

For the Focus on Rosso di Montalcino, published in "Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar". The prize will be delivered directly by the President Fabrizio Bindocci.


Anna Di Martino: "Montalcino and its history, its art and its wine" Award

For works signed by women with the articles published in "Il Mondo" and "CorrierEconomia – Corriere della Sera" which examine the world of Italian wine in the economic and productive aspects.


Voted by the online public, instead, is the winner of the "People and lands of Brunello and Orcia wines" photographic prize. The award went to Andrea Rontini for the image "Luna a Torrenieri".
