A fresh aroma of wild sambuca and figs, for Sauvignon St. Valentin, of pear fragrance for Pinot Grey Anger and, finally, of clove and licorice for the classic Gewürztraminer, native of the hills between Termeno and Appian. These are the three axes of the Cantina di San Michele Appiano to greet the arrival of a summer that promises to be decisively in need of coolness.

The line of St. Valentin wines is the flagship of the "winery excellence" of South Tyrol and collects the most prestigious wines produced with careful selection and the best grapes from local vineyards. The white wine of high oenologic school, Sauvignon St. Valentin, is produced in Appiano Monte from 400 to 600 meters above sea level and can be enjoyed with fish appetizers and cheese. The short aging in large fine wooden barrels, however, makes of Pinot Grey Anger a soft white wine, persuasive and velvety.

It is part of the line selection of the winery that this year at Vinitaly 2013 was presented with a new graphic label, a distinctive concept that aims to communicate the great work done in the vineyard and in the winery for the selection of the best productions. The image of the angel Saint Michael for its new labels is drawn from an ancient barrel, symbol of the San Michele Appiano winery. Finally, the Gewürztraminer wine can be sipped simply for the pleasure of enjoying a white wine of top quality. It has spicy and fruity notes that are typically found in "lychee" fruits. The Gewürztraminer wine is part of the Classic Line, and also this wine has a new label that represents manual skills as a celebration of the activity in the vineyard and the winery.

"The year 2012 revealed itself as one of the best vintages of the last years, especially for white wines, but also for Pinot Noir: fine distinct scents with good acidity and minerality", according to the judgment of Hans Terzer, famous oenologist that has been responsible for the winery since 1977 and manages it with great passion.
