The iconic wine from the winery in Valpolicella selected for the film directed by Corrado Ceron, out in theaters today.

Costasera, the iconic Amarone produced by the Masi cellars in Valpolicella , is among the symbols of Verona present in the film released today in the main Italian cinemas "The invention of us two" , based on the bestseller of the same name by Matteo Bussola (Einaudi Stile Libero) . Thanks to this film, Verona returns to all intents and purposes as a protagonist on the big screen: shot entirely in the city of Verona, it is the result of teamwork between local authorities, personalities and Venetian excellences: in addition to the aforementioned author of the book Matteo Bussola , the film it is directed by the Vicenza director Corrado Ceron , produced by La Scala K Plus Film chaired by Nicola Fedrigoni , made with the contribution of the Veneto Region , with the support of the Veneto Film Commission and with the patronage of the Municipality of Verona .

Among the Venetian excellences, Amarone could not be missing, especially since the protagonist Milo (Lino Guanciale) works as a chef in a typical Veronese tavern and, in one of the scenes, we see him intent on preparing a traditional Amarone risotto which is sprayed generously with Costasera. In the next scene, risotto is served by Milo to a young couple of lovers – “Here it is: a nice Amarone risotto, there is nothing better to celebrate love” – together with a bottle of Amarone Costasera.

We are thrilled to continue the collaboration with Nicola Fedrigoni's K production company and to see our Amarone Costasera enhanced in a context that celebrates Verona and its food and wine traditions ” commented Raffaele Boscaini, Marketing Director of Masi. “Masi had in fact also been a partner of the film 'As long as there is Prosecco there is hope', shot by K in the historic places of Prosecco production, with an incursion into Valpolicella for the "Premio Civiltà Veneta" of the Masi Foundation".

These are collaborations that consolidate the bond between Masi and his Foundation with the world of cinema. Over the years, the Masi Foundation has awarded the historic Masi Award to Venetian Civilization to cinema personalities such as Anna Proclemer, Ermanno Olmi, Tullio Kezich, Marco Paolini, Carlo Mazzacurati, Giuseppe Battiston, Natalino Balasso and Roberto Citran.

Also important is the collaboration with the director and documentary maker Andrea Segre who made the short film " Il Gusto del Tempo " for Masi, focused on the theme of the time necessary for the production of a fine wine like Amarone, including long periods of waiting during the drying of the grapes and the aging in barrels.
