The Wine&Art Gallery of the Il Borro estate opens its doors on 26th October with the "From Mantegna to Warhol: Stories of Wine" ("Da Mantegna a Warhol: Storie di Vino") collection of engravings of Ferruccio Ferragamo
The "From Mantegna to Warhol: Stories of Wine" exhibition
On 26th October, Il Borro hosts "From Mantegna to Warhol: Stories of Wine": 70 engravings that tell the relationship of men with wine from Mantegna to Goya, from Picasso to Warhol.
This is the private collection of engravings of Ferragamo and tells many stories of wine, its meanings over the centuries through important artists from the private collection of engravings of Ferruccio Ferragamo. The visitor can walk the streets of the story of Il Borro, the story of the works of art.
Mantegna, Dürer, Rubens, Rembrandt, Goya, Manet, until you get to Picasso and Warhol: art history reveals the story of wine from the exploration of the mysteries of the ancient rites of Bacchus with connections to the Christian tradition, from a gaze in the domestic and earthly dimension to go down to the deepest abyss of vice, in which men can fall because of the abuse of wine.
The exhibition is of great value for the cross–selection of masterpieces by Masters of Art that this year includes two significant new entry: a bacchanal depicted by Pablo Picasso and an "alcoholic" painting signed Andy Warhol.
Where is the exhibition "From Mantegna to Warhol: Stories of Wine"?
The exhibition is in the space above the wineries of the Il Borro estate, in San Giustino Valdarno, in the heart of the wine–making territory in the province of Arezzo.
