The “Vini Casalbordino” Cooperative Winery has launched the “Creative Ferments” contest, that invites students to ’decorate barriques’.
Students called to ... “decorate barriques”: this is the invitation of the “Creative Ferments – Decorate the barrique” (“Fermenti Creativi – Decora la barrique”) contest launched by the “Vini Casalbordino” Winery.
The competition aims to stimulate the creativity of the students of the schools in the province of Chieti bringing them closer to the universe of local wine. The “Creative Ferments – Decorate the barrique” contest is an idea to offer to the secondary schools students of the Province of Chieti an opportunity to express themselves with a creative approach on the wine world in all its nuances.
Students are invited to express their artistic talent on the staves of a barrique, the characteristic wooden barrel for aging wine.
Each school can participate with only one barrique, which must be requested to the winery by 15th February, and then must be given back, painted without limitation in techniques or materials, no later than 26th April.
We accept both individual and group works. In special cases, the Organization reserves itself the right to assign additional barriques to the institutes which request them. The participating works will be exhibited at the seat of the Vini Casalbordino Winery and later, except the first classified, made available for auction, and the proceeds will be donated to charity.
PRESENTATION
JURY OF THE PRIZE
A group appointed by the Organization by the deadline of the competition, consisting of experts of disciplines similar to the ones involved in this event (school examiners, university professors of artistic and expression subjects, journalists, art critics, oenologists, etc.). This jury will choose the best barriques to be presented to the visitors of the Barrique Exhibition at the Winery. The jury’s decision will be incontestable.
VISITORS OF THE EXHIBITION
From 1st to 25th May all barriques will be on display at the Vini Casalbordino Winery: visitors can vote for the ones selected by the jury filling and introducing in the ballot box the card in distribution at the entry.
PRIZES
Prizes are reserved to the first three in the ranking, will be awarded to the students winners and their institutes of belonging.
Prizes for students
1st ranked: scholarship of the value of € 500
2nd ranked: scholarship of the value of € 300
3rd ranked: scholarship of the value of € 200
If the winner is a group work, teachers will decide whether to transform the prize into vouchers for books and educational materials to be allocated to the members of the group.

– Notebook, screen 15.6 inches
Prize for the school of the second ranked students
– Tablet, screen 9.7 inches
Prize for the school of third ranked students
– Multifunction device
The winners and the Principals of the school of belonging will be notified by telegram, or e–mail, and invited to attend the awards ceremony following the communication that they will be forwarded by the Organization.
REGISTRATION AND DEADLINE
The request of the barrique must be submitted by 15th February 2014
The decorated barrique accompanied by the registration form of the contest must be received no later than 26th April 2014. Where to deliver the request and the barrique:

By prior arrangement, it is possible to request to the Organization the withdrawal of the work completed at the school.
