South Tyrolean wines are synonymous with quality and excellence, with a spirit of innovation and avant-garde both nationally and internationally. But to achieve this result a long road was undertaken between the seventies and the eighties, which with commitment and effort, passion, vision and determination, was traveled by many great personalities from Alto Adige who acted believing in a project and working incessantly to make it a reality.
"We have made a cycle of short documentaries giving voice to direct witnesses of the change of course of South Tyrolean viticulture", explains the Director of the Consorzio Vini Alto Adige Eduard Bernhart, "we want to give voice to the historical memory of our territory and allow more to be inspired from what guided these great personalities in building the success of our wines, sharing with them testimonies and memories of the past, of tradition, but also interpreting their gaze towards our future ".
It is thanks to winemakers, oenologists and presidents of social wineries that South Tyrol wines enjoy undisputed international prestige today. In fact, it was they who implemented with great foresight the strategies that over time have led to producing less and less quantity and more quality. This is a legacy that the Consorzio Vini Alto Adige has decided to celebrate by giving voice and space to all those who, in the years of the "wine revolution" in South Tyrol, have given their contribution to deliver today's wine world to contemporary winemakers .
The video stories, made by the South Tyrolean film team F-Tech and in collaboration with the well-known director Peter Künzel, will be released monthly in a special section of the Consortium's website as well as on the Consortium's Youtube page and will see a series of characters from prominent as Luis Raifer, for thirty years President of Cantina Colterenzio, Paolo Foradori, founder of the well-known J.Hofstätter estate, Alois Lageder of the homonymous winery and Hartmuth Spitaler ex-oenologist of Cantina Girlan.
