The Consortium for the protection of the only DOCG in Sicily has once again chosen the setting of the Teatro Massimo and the Sangiorgi of Catania to celebrate the excellence of its wines. It will also be an opportunity to begin the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the DOC recognition for the Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG which took place in May 1973.

On February 2nd we will toast again with music at the Teatro Massimo "Vincenzo Bellini" in Catania thanks to the concert with tasting organized by the Consortium for the protection of Cerasuolo di Vittoria Docg and Vittoria Doc wines . Taking to the prestigious Bellini stage will be the Chroma Ensemble which brings together the experiences of talented musicians appreciated throughout Italy, each of whom has a multifaceted concert, record, composition and teaching activity to their credit. For the occasion, the Ensemble will propose a show where the pleasure of music will be enhanced by the projection on the cinema screen of some of the most beautiful film scenes that have now become part of the history of International Cinema, chosen and edited by the performers themselves. To delight the evening will be José Massaro on violin, Pietro Vasile on violin, Michela Bonavita on viola, Jascha Parisi on cello, Giuseppe Blanco on double bass, Gianluca Abbate on accordion, Giovanni Cascone on trombone, Giorgio Lo Cirio on flute, Nicolò Pisani on euphonium and Marco Cascone on piano and arrangements.

The concert, which aims to promote the culture of wine and the beauty of music, this year will also be an opportunity to begin celebrating the 50th anniversary of obtaining the DOC for Cerasuolo di Vittoria. " Fifty years ago, precisely in May 1973, Cerasuolo di Vittoria was recognized as Doc - declares Achille Alessi , president of the Protection Consortium - and that important acknowledgment was welcomed with great celebration by the producers of the time, who believed in the potential of this Mediterranean red wine, with as many nuances as the soils from which it originates. The producers knew, in their hearts, that it would be talked about and instead they were making history, sanctioned a few decades after the arrival of the only Docg of southern Italy and still today of Sicily. A long history that of Cerasuolo di Vittoria which has seen the birth of various wineries around this wine, which work in harmony and with a spirit of collaboration alongside the historic companies .".

The Chroma Ensemble concert is scheduled for 7.30 pm and will be anticipated by the tasting of the Cerasuolo di Vittoria Docg and Vittoria Doc wines which will be held at the Sangiorgi Theater in Catania , from 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm .
