All the 24 companies awarded for their best Verdicchio by Istituto Marchigiano Vini.
Medagliere del Verdicchio, the prize awarded by Istituto Marchigiano di Tutela Vini to the companies of the Marche region that in 2013 have achieved the best recognitions by the most important industry guides. The vice-president of IMT Doriano Marchetti and the director Alberto Mazzoni delivered the prizes.

In the event took part: the assessor for Agriculture of the Marche Region Maura Malaspina, the Marche responsible for Slow Wine Guide Francesco Quercetti, the Marche responsible for Vini d?Italia Guide of Gambero Rosso Pier Paolo Rastelli.
?The future ? Marchetti and Mazzoni said ? is Verdicchio. With its 220,000 quintals of grapes produced in the countryside in 2012, it is without any doubt the first wine produced on the territory of Marche, and the most exported with 50,3% of the bottles destined to foreign countries. It is a wine-ambassador of the Marche region in the world?.
According to the director of IMT, Alberto Mazzoni: "The work of national and international promotion done for the last three years thanks to CMO and PSR funding has enabled our companies to increase not only sales, but also the number of bottles produced, which today are about 16 million and are getting closer to the goal set for 2013 (16.4 million). Also significant is the reduction in sales of unpackaged wine in the past 5 years, that is 80%. An important fact, which shows that today it is preferred to bottle in the production area keeping wealth ?at home? and giving added value to the bottle, made of history and corporate brand".
"It is important to remember ? Mazzoni said - that from 2009 to date and considering the projects for 2014, the producers who recognize themselves in IMT have invested and will invest more than 11.5 million €, 5.5 million € of the total, those spent directly by the over 120 companies that have made promotional activity. All this showing that the world of wine, led by Verdicchio, is made by companies who believe and invest. Not only on promotional activities but also on vineyard restructuring and technological innovation of the structures. Research, innovation and investment promotion - Mazzoni said - are the three growth factors essential to the agricultural world, considering that in the next 5 years we should turn abroad and keep on the threshold of 60% of exports".

Forthcoming initiatives for IMT Verdicchio
The IMT producers will be present at meetings of international importance - Prowein, Vinitaly ? and on the foreign markets of the U.S., China, Canada and Japan.
In addition, a stamp dedicated to the Castelli di Jesi Verdicchio Riserva DOCG will be printed within the thematic series of definitive stamps "Made in Italy" dedicated to the Italian culinary excellences.
