Prosecco, Valpolicella, Soave: the quality that makes us find open doors all over the world and that has been appreciated in 8 different places: Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore, Sao Paulo, Montreal and New York.


UVIVE – Stocchetti: “We are the ambassadors of an excellence that goes beyond the borders”

To organize the grand tour of events to celebrate the Veneto wines, UVIVE, the Union of Veneto DOC Wines Consortia:

“For the first time we present ourselves all together, an interesting, strong team, represented by pillars that sustain the economy of the Veneto wine – the Chairman of UVIVE, Arturo Stocchetti, says. We want to remember, among all the Presidents, Innocente Nardi, Stefano Zanette and Christian Marchesini. But, apart from the Prosecco DOC, Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG and the “Veronesi” wines, in the range there were also smaller denominations but highly reputable such as Lessini Durello, Lugana, Montello and Colli Asolani. Smaller productions for big names that, already today, in much of the world, are well established and appreciated”.

“These last two months have been intense and rich in satisfactions – Stocchetti comments. UVIVE involved the top of the wine and food industry, from Veronique Rivest in Canada Edwin to Edwin Soon in Singapore, from Paolo Wagner in Chicago, to Piero Selvaggio in Los Angeles, to the Venetian chef Bruno Serato. And, as always, we wanted institutions at our side: from the Councillor for Tourism and Foreign Trade Marino Finozzi, with us in Montreal, to the ambassadors and representatives of chambers of commerce in the different countries we have been to. All in the forefront, with the shared purpose to promote the quality of the Veneto wines. But this whole operation – Stocchetti concludes – would not have been possible without the great cooperation of all our partners–consortia and of individual companies. We are ambassadors of our country. In effect, we go beyond purely commercial objectives to move, instead, all together, to represent a region, a history, a unique wine–making tradition”.


NY: the last great stop of the 2013 tour of UVIVE

The 2013 tour of UVIVE is now in the Big Apple, where throughout December it is possible to enjoy Veneto wines at all restaurants of Eataly. Moreover, there will be dedicated weekly classes at “La Scuola di Eataly”, and tastings on Friday and on Saturday at the “Enoteca Vino”. New York saw also the interesting and innovative “Move the passion” event: the first wine marathon through the streets of Manhattan that has led wine lovers in 7 different locations to discover the 7 Consortia protagonists of the USA trip: Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, Lessini Durello, Lugana, Montello and Colli Asolani, Prosecco DOC, Soave and Valpolicella.

To experts, instead, the “Secret Somm” event was dedicated, that took place on 4 December at Il Buco Alimenti & Vineria in NoHo. In short, a real conquest of NYC by UVIVE, held by an exceptional godmother like Lidia Bastianich, who welcomed the Union of Veneto Wines Consortia at Eataly.
