The four–day "Vino in Villa" Festival in Conegliano Valdobbiadene has ended. This year the festival enriched the area with a surprising blend of wine and culture. The opportunity to present the 2014 vintage of Prosecco Superiore has proven to be a surprising factor of cultural, social, intellectual and human aggregation.
From 14th to 17th May prominent personalities of the Italian cultural scene animated the "Vino in Villa" Festival, the event organized by the Consortium for the Protection of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore. The festival has touched some of the loveliest towns of Conegliano Valdobbiadene, in a tangle of events that have joined the wine to art, photography, music, literature, philosophy and poetry, under the direction of the Venetian philosopher and musician Massimo Donà.
"Vino in Villa" 2015: the cultural journey
Conegliano hosted the start of the festival on 14th May, where Italo Zannier presented the "Al di qua e al di là del limite" ("On this side and beyond the limit") exhibition, at the Novecento Gallery of the Sarcinelli Palace, where it will remain until the end of this month. The evening continued with readings on wine and music.
Second round, on Friday, 15th May, in Pieve di Soligo, an afternoon of philosophical dialogues in the company of Luca Taddio, philosopher and editor of Mimesis Edizioni and Giulio Giorello, professor at the University of Milan. The Caligola Music Club concluded the evening with the jazz notes of Metamorphosis of the Gileno Santana Quintet.
On Saturday, the Villa dei Cedri in Valdobbiadene had special guests: Vittorio Sgarbi, Vincenzo Vitiello. The day ended with the musicologist and collaborator of Sole 24 Ore Quirino Principe, accompanied by the musical duo composed of Marino Nahon, piano, and Joo Cho, voice.
The grand finale
The grand finale of the "Vino in Villa" Festival was held on Sunday, 17th May, in the unique location of the San Salvatore Castle in Susegana. Throughout the day, the producers of Conegliano Valdobbiadene led visitors on a journey to discover the amazing features of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore.
At the end of this four days full of meetings, the limit between sound and word went on stage with a concert–dialogue between the writer Tiziano Scarpa and the trumpeter Enrico Rava.
The two artists led the public beyond the sensory limits with lightness and depth.
Between notes and words the festival ended, but a cultural dialogue has been opened, that we hope will involve more and more producers, public and territory; on the other hand «Wine is a summary of territory, landscape, history and culture» Massimo Donà said.
