TThe work of communication and training operated by the Consortium for the Protection of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore has given its fruits towards consumers and professionals of the Swiss wine: Switzerland remains one of the target markets for this DOCG sparkling wine that, between 2010 and 2014, marked right in this country a growth rate of +75.2%. This is shown by the advances of the new Report of the Research Center of the District that will be presented in December. One thing that comes on the eve of other opportunities for training organized by the Consortium for Protection: on 6th November two seminars will be held at the hotel school of Chur–Passugg, while on 9th November in Zurich, at the Neumarkt restaurant, there will be a workshop involving 60 industry operators. In addition, the wine educator Byron Catechis will put Prosecco Superiore in the center of the WSET courses that will organize in different cities of Switzerland.
«The aim of this business plan – the Chairman of the Consortium Innocente Nardi explains – is to highlight the distinctive features of the DOCG Conegliano Valdobbiadene from the wine and landscape points of view, providing to professionals and consumers the tools to choose with awareness and to fight imitations. The aim is also to introduce the versatility of Prosecco Superiore, a wine suitable for all times and not just for an aperitif».
A training plan of significant relevance, which is aimed at what is the second largest market of this DOCG sparkling wine: the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore designation recorded a turnover of 28.6 million in Switzerland in 2014 for a total of 6.6 million bottles.
These meetings taking place in November were preceded by incomings organized by the consortium starting in August with the arrival of the wine educator Byron Catechis and journalists Othmar Kiem of Falstaff and Christian Eder of Vinum, which gave wide space to our designation in the main specialized in wine magazines in Switzerland.
Stages of an international tour that will bring Prosecco Superiore even to the East, to ProWine China, which will open in November in Shanghai.
