The wine sectors of Confcooperative Treviso and Unindustria have underlined the commitment of the industry to deal with the supply of Prosecco DOC.

The new vineyards that are coming into production will bring an increase of 37% compared to 2012. The Consortium for the Protection of Prosecco DOC, in the face of this, asked for and obtained the creation of a reserve of about 20% of the 2013 production, with the possibility of release by July 2014.
Unindustria and Confcooperative Treviso remember that a situation similar in many ways occurred on the eve of the 2012 harvest . "It is undeniable - the two organizations of Treviso conclude ? that even these initiatives have fostered the growth trend of the Prosecco DOC phenomenon, which has become over the years the largest DOC of Italy (with a production of about 1.9 million hectoliters net of storage, 250 million bottles, 20 thousand hectares of worked vineyards in 9 provinces between Veneto and Friuli)".
Another important notice: prices will be unchanged compared to 2012, but with a higher value for areas of extreme viticulture, the steepest Rive. To establish this, the table for consultation that met in the headquarters of the Consortium for the Protection of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore, which was attended by all the industry associations. The decision to keep prices unchanged is particularly courageous, taking into consideration that spring, with its unstable climate, committed producers to almost double their work in the vineyards to ensure the harvest.
The entire chain of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore, however, is aware that in recent years an optimal pricing of the grapes has been achieved, and the goal is to maintain and consolidate positions: "We are aware - the president of the Consortium Innocente Nardi said - that the consumers today can not bear price increases and we decided to reduce the gain of all categories to confirm their trust".
The harvest will begin on 15th September in Conegliano, followed, about a week away, by that of Valdobbiadene. A very good quality is foreseen, thanks to the optimum climate of summer, warm and dry, with the right rainfall, while the fresh and sunny days in late August and early September, with good temperature ranges, foretell a great aroma of the grapes.
