From every crisis, an opportunity can arise. And so, the Valle di Cembra Exhibition Committee, which for over thirty years has been organizing Müller Thurgau: Vino di Montagna, has identified in the particular current situation the opportunity to create a different edition of this historic review, thanks to the support of Trentino Marketing and coordination of the Trentino Wine and Flavors Route as part of the promotion of provincial wine events called #trentinowinefest .
The event, created to celebrate and raise awareness of the grape variety protagonist of the heroic viticulture of the Cembra Valley through tastings open to the public and a prestigious international wine competition , has been postponed from the beginning of July - the period in which it traditionally takes place - to the days of 15 October 17 . A great opportunity for the guests who will participate to be able to visit Trentino at a highly attractive time of the year such as the beginning of autumn, when the panorama is embellished by the innumerable shades of colors characteristic of autumn.
The appointment to be able to taste the different expressions of this white grape variety, born at the end of the 19th century by the hand of Prof. Hermann Müller through the crossing between Riesling Renano and Madeleine Royal, is at Palazzo Roccabruna - Enoteca Provinciale del Trentino , available for the occasion by the Trento Chamber of Commerce, where from Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 October it will be possible to taste all the candidate labels for the XVII edition of the Müller Thurgau International Wine Competition , organized in collaboration with the Consorzio Vini del Trentino .
Although for this year the moments of the square in the village of Cembra have been archived, where usually the days of the exhibition were embellished with concerts and various initiatives, it is suggested to dedicate a visit to the Cembra Valley to admire the typical terraced vineyards , which they run for over 700 km on daring slopes offering the guest from the first glance the true meaning of " heroic viticulture ".
The occasion is represented by the conference open to the public organized to talk about the recent inclusion of the Valley in the National Register of historical rural landscapes of Italy . During the meeting, scheduled for Saturday 17 October at 10.00 , the study carried out to obtain the prestigious recognition will be presented: an important document that traces the last 60 years of the history of the Valley, between wine history and political choices oriented towards development territorial linked to this important supply chain of the territory.

Müller Thurgau profile
Born between 1882 and 1891 from the crossing of Rhenish Riesling and Madeleine Royal at the hands of prof. Hermann Müller, Müller Thurgau is a vine that matures best in the mountains and that in the Cembra Valley, a territory sheltered from mountains and woods and characterized by porphyritic soils and strong temperature variations, has found its ideal habitat. From the vinification of its grapes, a pale straw yellow white wine with greenish reflections is obtained, a very evident aromatic component, with hints of aromatic herbs, elderberry, tropical fruit and citrus. Sapid, mineral, with pleasant acidity: typical characteristics of mountain wines.
Profile of the Cembra Valley
Historic rural landscape of Italy and member of the "World Alliance of Terraced Landscapes", it is characterized by porphyritic soils and a strong temperature range and is a national and international emblem of heroic mountain viticulture. Crossed by the Avisio stream, as well as for its wines and grappas, it is known worldwide for the presence of porphyry, defined as "red gold", and for the Pyramids of Segonzano, a natural monument resulting from the erosion of the sides of the mountains.
