To understand better the value of these awards, let us see better what Mondial du Merlot 2012 means
The Mondial du Merlot 2012 international competition has been organized for the second time by the Vinea in Sierre and benefits from the patronage UI? OIV (International Union of winemakers) and of Usoe (Union of Swiss oenologists), and is a member competition of Vinofed, the International Federation of the major wine competitions.
This competition is a true reference in the world of international mono–varietal competitions and is supported by two main sponsors, Syngenta and the Città di Lugano, location of the award ceremony and the birthplace of Merlot in Switzerland.
The Jury of Mondial du Merlot was composed of 17 international tasters of enology and specialized journalism and of tasting as sommeliers.
Vinea: an organization that works
Valeriu Cotea of OIV congratulated sincerely with the organizers for their professionalism and quality of the organization. They deserved the compliments also for the computer program, and for the new tools for the tasting that the Vinea Association has adopted this year.
