Thirty years to the DOCG of Chianti Rùfina

«In the past 30 years there have been many changes – the president of the Chianti Rùfina Consortium Federico Giuntini explains – but, despite the evolution, our product has remained linked to the traditions maintaining a strong link with the territory. Chianti Rùfina – Giuntini continues – has not followed the fashions of the international taste and, for this reason, perhaps, in certain historical periods was also penalized, but this was also our strength. The families who run the historical businesses are still the same and have always resisted even in difficult times and now we are reaping great satisfaction from the market. At this time ours, among the various denominations of the Chianti region, is the one with the clearest identity, thanks also to our cellar practices that are not invasive. We follow wine, do not distort it».

The Chianti Rùfina includes the towns of Pontassieve, Rùfina, Londa, Pelago and Dicomano and is one of the most important wine areas of Tuscany. Rùfina is one of the smallest of the seven specifications of Chianti.

Most local producers are members of the Chianti Rùfina Consortium, currently chaired by Federico Giuntini, founded in 1980. In 1984 Chianti Rùfina obtained the DOCG. The fame of the Rùfina wine is linked to the high quality of the product.

Rimarchiamolo! A new brand for Chianti Rùfina

The Rimarchiamolo! Competition was organized by the Chianti Rùfina Consortium that asked for a new brand that could be a vehicle of expression of the values and reference elements of the Consortium: a sense of territoriality understood as a territorial identity, the social identity of the community of reference, the expression of a contemporary sense of continuity with tradition, as well as a sense of deep respect for the environment and longevity.

The evaluation of the project participants took into consideration many aspects such as:

? Originality of the mark, to say, the ability to be exclusive

and competitive, without triggering confusion and overlap

with other existing brands

? Memorability, or the ability to be stored for its structure and for its evocative and imaginative power

? Appropriateness and adequacy, to say, the ability to represent

the best values of the Chianti Rùfina Consortium, in its role of national and international relevance

? Ease of communication, namely the ability to achieve interlocutors

in a direct and effective way

The winner mark was designed by Giulia Bachini, followed by Elena Tanfani, third placed ex aequo Elena Molino and Eugenia Bordini.
