"Silenziosi Racconti" is an exhibition of works of art by artists who were inspired by Chianti Classico: Rocca delle Macìa selected them, made its vineyards and winemaking activity to be admired and its wines to be tasted.
The initiative is part of the "Zingarelli–Rocca delle Macìe" art prize: some young Italian and foreign artists were chosen to develop their own site–specific work on the theme: "forms of art and wine in the story of an area".
The artists participated in seminars on Chianti Classico, on its vineyards, on vinification, in order to offer them the awareness and knowledge of an area that would inspire them to create their art work...
These are the 15 artists, both Italian and foreign, who created their personal works dedicated to the terroir of Chianti Classico. From Italy: Lorenzo Aceto, Martina Antonioni, Giorgio Bernucci, Enrica Berselli, Paolo Bini, Luca De Angelis, Simone Del Pizzol, Micaela Lattanzio, Alessandra Maio, Elisa Mearelli, Federico Ellade Peruzzotti, from Iraq: Ammar Al–Hameedi, from Albania: Moisi Guga, from Germany: Cristiano Tassinari, from England: Ian Woodard.
Each one of them has a prominent location in contemporary art.
The "Silenziosi Racconti" exhibition: the works of art
The participating works are exhibited in Borgo Le Macìe, home of the family, from 30th May to 31st October 2014.
«The role of art and culture are factors of development of an area, in which art becomes a tool for development and enhancement of the same, where culture is required to capture new audiences giving visitors a new image of the area, not only related to wine, but extended also to the artistic value that it generates. The pillars of the new edition will revolve around the SILENT STORIES (Silenziosi Racconti), which throughout history have allowed the Chianti Classico region to became a worldwide known land».
Now you can enjoy the "Silenziosi Racconti" exhibition at Rocca delle Macìe (in Castellina in Chianti) in Art Prize, sponsored by the Zingarelli family at the helm of the winery, in collaboration with the artist–designer Raimondo Galeano, with the curator Simona Gavioli, one of the artists of the exhibits, which visitors, gallerists and critics can vote.
The winner of the "Zingarelli–Rocca delle Macìe" art prize will be declared on 2nd October 2014.
