Record sales for Cantina di Monteforte in the U.S. market, where a net growth of 50% is reported for branded wines produced and marketed by the company. Thanks to a targeted market analysis, based on a precise segmentation of consumer groups, which began three years ago, Cantina di Monteforte today collects the first positive results securing additional room for growth in the months to come.
Thanks to the appreciation that Italian wines in general are experiencing today in America, together with a careful policy of differentiating brands, Cantina di Monteforte doubled its sales in three years, in addition to strengthening its presence in the different states of the Union.
Especially rewarded the "Re Teodorico" line, created solely for foreign markets and including the great wines of the Scala family tradition, primarily Soave, Valpolicella and Amarone.
"It would have been much easier to propose to the U.S. market with a Pinot Grigio, maybe at a low price - Gaetano Tobin says, general manager of Cantina di Monteforte - but we decided to get involved and to focus on quality policies investing in the medium-to-long period. Our strength is the uniqueness that everyone envies us and that can not be be cloned. So we chose to face the U.S. market with high quality productions, such as Amarone and Valpolicella Ripasso, which have literally opened the doors for our Soave Classico".
The wines of Cantina di Monteforte are present in Florida, in the state of New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and California. The company produces 2.5 million bottles, fully dedicated to the catering channel. Of these, 80% is exported. The foreign markets of reference of Cantina di Monteforte, in addition to the United States, are Germany, Great Britain, Scandinavia, Switzerland and Japan. It should be remembered that Cantina di Monteforte was founded in 1952 by about eighty members. It currently employs 600 growers, active in 1300 acres of property, it processes about 260,000 quintals of grapes and produces nearly 3 million bottles, with a turnover of 17.5 million Euro in 2012. Almost all the bottled wine is intended to the Horeca channel and 80% of this is sold abroad. The winery produces 30% of the Soave Classico wine, 10% of the Soave DOC wine, 1% of the Valpolicella Doc wine, 5% of the Lessini Durello wine.
