The 2022 vintage of the entire range of white wines from Tiare di Dolegna del Collio is dedicated to bees . And, to highlight it, on the back label the bottles bear the words "Save the Bees and Farmers" , to spread awareness as much as possible towards the consumer of the importance of these indispensable pollinating insects for the protection of the environment and biodiversity, as well as of the precious possible synergy - thanks to simple agronomic tricks - between beekeeping and viticulture in respect of the environment.
The attention of Roberto Snidarcig's company towards bees dates back to a few years ago and reaffirms the consideration towards sustainability and environmental protection that has always characterized it, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. An important piece of this process, which started with joining the Eno Bee Api in the vineyard project and with the installation of 5 beehives among the Malvasia vineyards (among the oldest and most interesting native vines of the Collio) at the estate entrance. A letter stands out on each, composing the name Tiare : a sort of welcome which highlights the importance that bees, the bioindicator par excellence, have for vineyards and for the survival of agricultural ecosystems and, in general, of the whole earth . In fact, they are responsible for the pollination of 70% of all plant species in the world. In Europe alone, 4,000 agricultural varieties depend on bees and in the last 50 years the volume of agricultural production has increased by 30% thanks to their direct contribution. The Tiare vineyards are an ideal habitat in which they have adapted perfectly and of whose sustainability they have also become a reliable sensor. In fact, the bees themselves act as guarantors of the health of the surrounding environment, given that they die if harmful treatments are used in the vineyard.
Now, with the writing “ Save the Bees and Farmers ” on the back label of its white wines (about ten, starting with Sauvignon, which represents over 50% of its production) Tiare takes a further step forward, with a message of awareness for the protection of this precious insect aimed at consumers. The Friulian winery is not new to this kind of initiative: the 2021 vintage of its wines was tinged with pink, marrying solidarity and commitment to the health prevention work carried out by Lilt (Italian League for the Fight against Tumors ), whose unmistakable pink logo appeared on all the packages of white wines.
