Impronte d’Eccellenza 2014: green wineries have been awarded

The "Impronte d’Eccellenza. Tecniche agronomiche sostenibili per una viticoltura di valore" Prize has awarded the wine companies that adopted environmentally friendly practices in their production activities in the vineyard and in the winery.


Also for 2014, the collaboration between the Cities of Wine and Cifo has been renowed: the "Impronte d’eccellenza. Tecniche agronomiche sostenibili per una viticoltura di valore" Prize is part of the "La Selezione del Sindaco" Competition. The initiative is sponsored by Cities of Wine together with Cifo, a leading Italian company in the production of natural products for plant nutrition. The Cifo prize has been awarded to companies that have won at least one gold medal in "La Selezione del Sindaco" and proved to practice the best sustainable farming techniques.


"Impronte d’Eccellenza" 2014: the award–winning wineries

In 2014 the prize has awarded three companies that won at least one Gold Medal in the "La Selezione del Sindaco" Competition and that practice the best sustainable techniques according to the feedback of the Scientific Committee chaired by prof. Mario Fregoni and composed by prof. Alberto Vercesi (Catholic University of Piacenza, Faculty of Agriculture), prof. Luigi Bavaresco (Director of the Viticulture Research Center of Conegliano, TV), Paolo Benvenuti, Director of the Cities of Wine Association.

2. "LA CURA" FARM of the Municipality of Massa Marittima (Grosseto)

Gold Medals: Brecce Rosse 2012 Doc – Monteregio di Massa Marittima – Cabernet 2010 Maremma Toscana IGT

3. BELLUSSI AGOSTINO E LAMBERTO FARM of the Municipality of Vazzola (Treviso)

Gold Medal: Aromatic Traminer Le Vare Igt Veneto 2013



Here is what the wineries on the podium won:

First Prize TV Special "Con i Piedi per Terra" (a transmission spread in the nation via satellite and digital terrestrial); € 1,000.00 of complimentary products; + 2 soil analysis; + 1 leaf analysis; free technical advice by Cifo for the use of products.

Second Prize € 2,000.00 of complimentary products; + 2 soil analysis; + 1 leaf analysis; + Free technical advice by Cifo for the use products.

Third prize € 1,000.00 of complimentary products; Free technical advice by Cifo for the use of products.

In addition, the winning wineries for two years can make free use of a collar with the (registered) brand of "Impronte d’Eccellenza" on their awarded bottles. Even participating wineries that proved to be directed towards environmental and sustainable practices in their wine business can use that collar.

Companies can use the "Impronte d’Eccellenza" logo on all their products, because it is the companies’ work to be rewarded.
