From 24th to Monday, 26th May, Asti hosts Vinissage 2014: a rich showcase of vinegrowers who are working to produce wine in a natural way.

Organized by the Municipality of Asti in collaboration with the Enoica Workshop Association, Vinissage is the market for organic and biodynamic wines.

At the Dell’Enofila Palace, conscious vinegrowing will be staged, and professionals, journalists and consumers will meet.

The initiative aims to promote small artisan producers from various Italian regions who are committed to produce without chemicals in the vineyard and in the wine cellar.

At the event there will be also producers and craftsmen of other food products: bread, cakes, conserves and jams from organic and biodynamic farming.

«Organic farming is a type of agriculture that is done respecting the natural cycles of land and nature, it is not only the absence of the use of fertilizers and agrochemicals. In organic farming you cultivate soil, not the plant itself». Andrea Cerrato, Councillor for Agriculture, Tourism, Economic Development of the town of Asti, states.

«(...) The town of Asti increasingly believes in Vinisagge, not just as a trade show dedicated to organic and biodynamic wine, but as a cultural event».

Here are some interesting events:

– a musical aperitif on Saturday night,

– a moment of confrontation and technical study with a conference dedicated to the Flavescence dorée in organic viticulture, an extremely dangerous disease that has devastating effects on vineyards. The conference will be organized with the support of AIAB.

Fans, operators, gourmands and curious are invited to be seduced and involved in stories of passion, care and dedication with which the exposed materials have been produced and processed by many artisans of taste present at the event.
